We stopped in and were able to take a free tour to see how chocolate is made in PG from bean to bar. Very informative. Charming.

We stopped in and took the short tour and bought a few bars of chocolate. We actually had to go back before leaving PG because the chocolate is that good! The coffee and mint varieties were our favorites.

Great fun! They buy local cacao beans from the farmers co-op, and do all the processing to convert them in to chocolate bars, chocolate soap and cocoa. While not quite manual, it is definitely hands-on and individual (and low tech). The attached picture shows two roasters, the DeWalt powered grinder, and the Sunbeam powered winnower. Inside they will proudly show you their cooler, that on a good day can get all the way down to 60F! Fun, and the 100% chocolate bars are the best EVER!!

Thanks for your visit! And yes we are proud of our cool room, it is our favorite place to hang out on hot days (with a bar of chocolate, of course).

When our guide, Gilley of Placencia's Trip and Travel, shared that we would be touring a chocolate factory, we could not have described what we actually visited. I don't want to give away the mystique of this wonderful place. I'll just say, if you love chocolate, you can't miss this place in Punta Gorda, Belize.
