“Friendly and Accommodating”

The hosts were wonderful. So friendly and accommodating to our large group. The view is amazing and there are hammocks provided in every room. They always have hot water and stock fresh drinking water if necessary. The kitchen is well-stocked which makes it easy to prepare your favorite meal. The host also makes wonderful suggestions for dinner. Would definitely stay here in the future.

I stayed with a group of 9 at the Blue Belize for 2 weeks during our medical mission trip in Punta Gorda. Kate, the owner, was fantastic. She has both trustworthy and attentive people in her employ. All requests were met with prompt and courteous service. The location is great and is within a short walk to town for shopping and dining. The rooms were kept very clean and equipped with a small kitchen to suit all your needs. The owners know the area well and have connections for their guests regarding restaurants and day excursions. I thoroughly enjoyed the company of Arthur & Daisy (owner's dogs) and being greeting each day with wagging tails. The rooms are fully equipped to accomodate all your needs from small stoves, a microwave, a refrigerator and even kettles to boil water. The locals are all very friendly and we felt like we were welcomed by all within the community. At the end of our long days, it was so refreshing to come back to the Blue Belize. If you stay here you will be treated well and you will have a memorable experience!

Room Tip: Ask to stay in the rooms above the main house if WiFi is important. The connection is excellent abo...

Loved it here and the hosts are so sweet and friendly they make it feel like it is truly your home! Kate was so gracious and accommodating to our group. Esme and her adorable little boy were also such a joy to be around! I came here with my University and we were gone most days but it always felt great to come home to Blue Belize. PG is a small community so after 2 weeks it definitely felt like we were part of it. One note: if you are needing wi-fi continuously, request to stay in the main building as it works much better in those rooms. We were in the other building and had to often ask to have the router restarted (which Kate always took care of no problem) but the people in the main building never had a problem connecting. It was a great experience! Enjoy!

The Blue Belize is an excellent establishment, with caring and helpful management to assist travelers on their visit to Punta Gorda. Our team had excellent accommodations and service. I highly recommend this as a well-located, equipped, and staffed place to stay in PG!

This is my third trip to PG in three years and second time to Blue Belize.Like last year Blue Belize was a excellent place to stay.Kate is a wonderful, friendly and helpful host. She brings up fresh bread and fruit every morning, and was very helpful in arranging a spur of the moment excursion for me.The room was very clean, comfortable, spacious and there are many comforts in the room like a fully equipt kitchen, water in the fridge, and even some Coffee. The grounds are very nice and well maintained and I liked the location on the edge of town.Unfortunately I didn't book any trips with Dan on this trip but if you plan on some water excursions he is a great guide. Also keep in mind that most all the stores are closed on Sunday so if you need anything supplies get them on Saturday.Even though I just got back I'm already looking at another trip to Belize and if I go back to PG will definatley stay at Blue Belize.

Our time at the Blue Belize was relaxing and peaceful. It is situated close to the ocean in a quiet spot at the edge of Punta Gorda, while still being within walking distance of the main spots in town. The only noise came from the children playing under the nearby streetlight in the evenings.
We stayed in the Seastar for 3 nights and would have stayed longer if there had been availability. (We've booked a month for next year!) The kitchen is quite adequate for simple meals and everything is well maintained and in good working order. The suite was very clean throughout.
Kate is very helpful and friendly and serves a lovely light breakfast each morning. The Blue Belize offers a very welcoming, friendly atmosphere and we highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Seastar is larger than the three less expensive suites, with lots of room to spread out.

We spent 11 nights at BlueBelize in the first part of February, our fourth stay in the last five years. Each time we stay a little longer, and each time it gets better. It has become our home-away-from-home in Belize. We had not met Kate on previous trips (2010-2012), and we instantly came to think of her not just as the "manager" but as a friend who was interested in our adventures and always ready and willing to help us plan them. BlueBelize presents a perfect mixture of being just close enough to the edge of town that you feel part of the laid-back pulse of PG, yet tucked away enough that you can relax, read, nap, and just "be" if that's your desire. The proximity of the market, restaurants, and grocers make it feasible to eat out, eat in with take-away, or prepare your own meals in the kitchenette. Very handy, and a good mix. We had a rental car; not cheap, but a good alternative in Toledo for exploring back roads and Mayan villages that don't have regular transportation if you're comfortable doing your own thing. We took two trips with Dan, which were highlights of our stay. He's so knowledgeable, and willing to share his experiences, yet laid-back and amenable to our suggestions and unusual requests (yes-we had some!). One trip was out to the Sapodilla Cayes; we'd snorkeled before with him and Wayne (his brother) at Snake Caye, and wanted to try something different and see the end of the reef. He even found us a giant sea turtle. The second trip was to the Rio Dulce Canyon in Guatemala, a true adventure seeing the flora of the Canyon (I'm a botanist), and staying in a jungle lodge. Again, his willingness to "personalize" our trip and his skill and patience in getting in to where I could get just the right angle for a flower picture made the trip very special. This was my 16th trip to Belize since 1988, and we hope to return next winter and make BlueBelize a big part of the experience once again. It's indeed a hidden gem.
