“Something to see”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 January 2014

Really not that great. Something to see in the centre of the city. Some interesting murals but do not expect a proper palace.

“Historic Building”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 December 2013

They have tours on the hour. You line up single file a few minutes before the hour. You pass through security and purchase tickets for Q40 about $5.25. Nationals visit for free. The tours last about 1 hour. They are only in Spanish. You see a few murals and just a few of the rooms and courtyards.

“Amazing place to visit!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 November 2013

Love this place, its amazingly beautiful. Full of history and art. Its antique structure give you the idea you are back at 1950s. Really recommend to go and ask for a guide.

“No free tours”

I tried to get a English tour in November 2013. Nothing free available in English or Spanish. Cost for Spanish language tour was more than $10.

“See it to believe it and it even comes with free tour!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 November 2013 via mobile

The newly reborn and restored downtown, called Centro Historico, has as the Jewel of its
Crown the main Plaza, and to its North, you will find this huge green mysterios eclectic architectural " Fancy" of past dictator Jorge Ubico Castañeda who "had it finished for his birthday in November 1943" even if " looks " older... This I learned from the FREE GUIDED TOUR IN PERFECT BROKEN ENGLISH AND ABSOLUTLY SWEET MAYAN GIRL that work along others as guide. Also for free, a wonderful Exposition of Guatemalan modern art, truly representative!
