“Great for a quiet night's sleep”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2014

This is a good place to stay if you just want to spend one last night in a nice bed and have a nice shower before going to the airport. It's definitely a bed and breakfast and not a hotel to meet other travelers. If you are planning on staying in Guatemala City and exploring around I wouldn't suggest staying here because it's in a "colonia" (a gated community) that isn't near anything, so you have to take a cab everywhere. The breakfast is okay. Mostly, the facilities are very nice and clean. Also be aware that there are taxes added onto the price at the end of your stay.

I stayed in the hotel 2 nights, one alone and one with my girlfriend. The single and the double room were both very spacious and clean. The roof terrace is big enough to relax a day in the sun and the rooms are also very comfortable. The owner is unbelievable friendly and bought flowers for me, gave me his last fruits and helped me with everything really fast. Thanks a lot for the great 2 days!

Getting picked up from the airport, nice room, good food, what's not to like? Then I was shown where to safely change my money, and dropped off at a fabulous place for dinner. Will definitely go here again. Very good for the single woman traveler.

I booked this family-owned B&B for my first night in Guatemala City since I had a late arrival and it was located close to the airport. As a solo female traveler, the airport pick-up service was a bonus. The owner of Mariana's who is this sweet old man who came to pick me up very promptly, holding a paper sign with my name on it. The drive was less than 10 minutes away and I checked in and was shown to my room. The spiral staircase led me to my room upstairs which was very clean and spacious. There was an in-suite bathroom and the bed was extremely comfortable. The only con I can think of is that the airplanes flying nearby is a bit loud, but I had earplugs and was able to sleep through it. Woke up the next morning and was served a hot breakfast -- papaya, hot bean dip, bread, potatoes, and scrambled eggs with Guatemalan coffee. I felt right at home! Highly recommended.

Room Tip: - airplanes flying above can be a bit noisy, so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper

Thank you for the review, sorry you hear the planes and bother you, but we are so close to the airport, the good thing is that planes stop at 10:30 at night and start until 5:30 in the morning, Hope we can serve you again.

I felt right at home at Mariana´s. Everyone was so friendly and the hostess went out of her way to make me feel comfortable, checked my flights for me and also helped me research which bus to catch when i arrived at my destination. the airport shuttle is included which is incredibly useful if you have an early morning flight as i did. There is a store nearby for snacks and a restaurant within walking distance that does a fantastic lunch for about 25Q. There is also a computer with internet for guests to use, along with a balcony area. My room was clean, bed comfortable and I slept well. I would definitely stay here again and felt very safe as a solo female traveller.

A nice comfortable stay at a place close to the airport. My room had a private entrance off the second floor with a spiral staircase leading up to a bedroom with a sink, and an attached shower/toilet. A closet and a small flat screen TV and an attached balcony. Fresh towels and soap and shampoo was provided daily. Unexpectedly a wonderful breakfast at this private home with up to five private 'suite' accommodations. The second floor featured a terrace for travelers to hang out and relax, and a place for internet and a library full of reference travel books. The owner resides in a separate wing. The host was gracious enough to drop me off at the close by International airport at 5 a.m., and then pick me that night. The following day they drop me off again for my flight home. It was truly a gem of a find for me, The area is not really walkable, but they will call you a taxi to explore the city. It is good for a convenient close to airport no frills, clean and safe place.
