This is the second time we've taken a shore excursion through Carnival to Maya Key. We loved it both times. The snorkeling is fantastic, the overall ambiance is relaxing and peaceful, the location is great, and we love the fact they are so helpful to the animals they rescue. We will definitely make a donation to the cause, and will continue to visit on future cruises.

We had a wonderful day at Maya Key! Great snorkeling, good food, good shopping. But my FAVORITE part was the Sea Lion Encounter. It cost me $30 extra... and WELL worth it. You spent one-on-one time with the Sea Lion and his trainer. The sea lion was SO cute! They let you take pictures with your own camera so that is better than other excursions that make you pay extra for photos.

We booked the day at Maya Key through NCL. We're so glad we did! We docked at Roatan, had time to wander the port, then caught a small boat to Maya Key. One other boat came to Maya Key from another cruise ship. The island never felt crowded or busy. There were lots of empty sun chairs, available in the sun or shade. We grabbed our chairs in the shade, which was a welcome retreat after snorkeling. Snorkeling was beautiful! This was our first family experience with snorkeling, and all of us enjoyed it. Our children, 9 and 12, are good swimmers and comfortable in the water, but one of us stayed near them at all times. The current began to get very strong later in the day. We saw many fish, lots of coral, and stingrays. We ate lunch, which consisted of fried sea bass, Caribbean chicken, rice and beans, coleslaw and friend plantains. You can have tea or water to drink, included in your fee, or you can order many drinks from the bar. There was a gift shop available on the island, as well as bathrooms and lockers. We walked around the entire island, and enjoyed seeing the animals who are cared for there. One worker explained to us animals come there either for rehabilitation, or they are rehomed to the island when seized from illegal dealings.

Our only regret? That we couldn't stay longer! However, we were there longer than advertised by NCL. We caught the boat over at 9:30am, and left Maya Key at 3:30pm. They have boats that run back to the pier every 30 minutes, so you can leave earlier if you need.

Went to Maya Key (formerly Fins & Flippers) through Royal Caribbean and it was one of our favorite all-time stops. What a beautiful island getaway!! Snorkeling, wonderful animal sanctuary for rescued/abused/donated animals. I cannot begin to describe how awesome the day was. It was my idea of the perfect day (especially since we live in the frigid state of Michigan). Thank you Maya Key, for making this day wonderful and memorable. We would definitely love to come back.

Just exactly as it was advertised and more! Super friendly and helpful folks, great meal, not too crowded. The snorkeling was GREAT! Would absolutely go back again- was just plain fun and relaxing. This would be a wonderful place to take children as well. Nothing negative at all!
