Turn off the main road at Jonesville to the right and head down the hill to a parking lot by the water. There is a small store and other people in the area who will summons up the free boat ride to Hole in the Wall restaurant.
This is not your typical Mom and Pop restaurant, you have to have a feeling of adventure and want to get away from it all. Other reviews below were probably from some "city dwellers" and were not of an open mind. I've been to Hole in the Wall twice from Cruise Boats and have even planted a geocache there. December 26th will be the 3rd time I've traveled to this place. We plan on having lunch there and a few drinks.
Suggestions: Riding scooters anywhere around Roatan can be dangerous due to the crime rate. Get a cab or as we do - Bodden Tours who are very affordable and provide the security you need.. (You can google them) Once at Hole in the Wall, buy your driver a lunch/drink to keep him happy!
Have fun getting away from it all, no formal attire needed here.
Bob

We went to this restaurant 6 years ago and had a decent meal, and the place had just the right combo of quirkiness and beautiful setting. We decided to go there again, even though our boat driver suggested (several times) that we might want to think twice about eating there. Definitely should have listened, because the food was absolutely terrible (the lobster was similar to fish flavored chewing gum), overcooked, and service was slow. I heard that the original owner had passed away several years ago, and that must account for the change. The setting is still lovely, but I would suggest having a beer there and then taking the advice of your guide as to where to eat.

We were robbed at gunpoint when leaving this place on a rental scooter on Monday August 26, 2013 at around 3:00 pm.

When we first saw the sign from the main road, the dirt road scenery looked nice and inviting enough. It wasn't till we got to the end of it that we saw all the trash on the ground, and in the water. I makes the area look like a slum, and that should have been the first hint that we should have turned around, and got out of there. But a nice old man came out of a house, and told us he would take us by boat to the resturant. I locked up the scooter.

After lunch we headed back towards the main road, right when we almost made it to the main road, there is a section where road goes up an incline to meet it, and there is dense brush on each side. Two young men came out of the brush, one from each side of the road wearing masks. One had a black semi-automatic pistol, they stopped us and pointed the gun to my head.

They took our cash, a blue single strap backpack with a silver Cannon camera in it, and my blue Samsung Galaxy 3 phone with black Otterbox cover.

When we went to the police station in Coxen Hole to file a report, they were not very nice to us condidering what just happend. They were not interested in any specific details about the incident, not did they include them in the report. It was obvious that there is no crime data collection, nor would there be any follow up, investigation, or attempt find the robbers.

This place is worth visiting at least once, as much for the experience as anything else.

After a fairly long drive on a questionable road, you arrive at a small parking lot with a dock. As other reviewers have mentioned, the shoreline is littered with trash, which is a shame, as the area is quite beautiful. After a short boat ride (with Clyde, an interesting old guy who will take you on a short tour of the mangroves fora small fee), you end up at a small dock / restaurant in a small bay. Very rustic and friendly.

I had lobster and my wife had fish and both were enjoyable. The real attraction though was the location, on a dock in the middle of "nowhere". Very beautiful and peaceful.

Definitely worth a visit.
