I stayed for 2 nights in April 2012. Very nice little guest house with a small cafe at the street and 4 rooms upstairs with an open area and rockers. Staff spoke very limited (to no) english so it helped to know some spanish, but they were incredibly attentive and very eager to please. We felt so incredibly welcomed. When we arrived, we were sick from a crazy car ride from San Pedro Sula and were immediately provided with free ginger ale to help. They also called and made arrangements as needed for car rides, etc.

The room was cozy but comfortable. The AC struggled until later in the night (presumably less power consumption) so it worked normally. Comfortable beds, fairly quiet, and clean. I would definitely recommend it. Very convenient location right in the center.

We stayed there last February. The place is small and homey. More to the fact that Rina makes in every way possible to make sure you are comfortable, as well as the rest of the staff. There are only four rooms but all of them give you the Same quality and service as expected. The rooms on the front side are the best, the have a nice little balcony, Plus all rooms are soundproof. The place is located a block behind the main square, which makes it perfect. A walking distance from everything and a block of distance from all the noise and heat of town. The place has a very romantic feeling, I strongly recommend it for couples gateways.

We had a single and double room here and were not disappointed in any way, even though all of the reviews are raves. We stayed here purely because of the TripAdvisor reviews and were surprised how good it was. Very helpful and friendly staff; exceptionally clean, quiet, air-conditioned rooms, We would love to stay here again! When planning don't forget the 16% Honduran taxes on rooms in Copan.

Room Tip: All 4 rooms are on second floor. Our street side room had sound insulating glass and shutters so no...

I did a solo trip to Honduras and was so glad I came across this hotel on the internet. I couldn't believe my luck. In fact the only reason I hate to join the crowd in raving about Yat B'alam is because I don't want it to become too popular to get a reservation.

What can anyone say, it's not just a great little hotel with amazing atmosphere but the staff couldn't be friendlier or more pleasant. This small size only adds to the charm. I really felt at home. The rooms are tastefully furnished and feel warm, the courtyard and reading area are wonderful places to hang out and relax for a few minutes before heading out or having a cup of coffee. The shops have some great souvenirs and sitting at one of the cafe tables for breakfast while you watch the little town wake up is a joy.

I had rented a car but ended up walking everywhere except the trip up to Los Sapos where I rode up with the guide in a little toot toot. There is off street parking available so there was no worries about the vehicle. The proximity to the ruins and the cobblestone streets made walking my favorite mode of transport though.

It's hard to come up with anything negative to say about this hotel...oh, I think I lost internet once right in the middle of emailing about how great the place the trip was.

Seriously, this place is wonderful and deserves the accolades it's getting.

This is a small boutique hotel just a block from the main square and it is one of the best places I have ever experienced. We stayed there in late Feb with two other couples and had a great stay. Two of the bedrooms overlook the main street and are by far the best choice. The other two room at the back, have two queen size beds making the room a bit cramped. The bathroom is spotless and the maid service outstanding. The staff could not be more helpful and go out of the way to make you feel comfortable. There is a small coffee shop/restaurant which serves a good breakfast and great coffee. Well worth a visit and the place to stay when visiting this charming location.

Room Tip: Try and get a room at the front of the hotel

Elegantly furnished, centrally located, this hotel is just fantastic. The owner is also extremely helpful. The three tiendas that are part of the hotel had some of the best souvenirs that we saw in Honduras, sourced mainly from artisans and co-ops.

Just read those TA reviews! This was by far the best experience we had in three weeks’ travel and a dozen hotels in Guatemala, Honduras and Belize. Rina and the team really care about what they do, and it really shows. It’s a tiny place, with just the four rooms, but quite faultless; there’s even double-glazing to eliminate any street noise. Our room was large, with a small balcony, and superbly equipped. A fridge, TV and DVD player (DVDs for borrowing in Reception) were nice extras. Bathroom and wi-fi were excellent. But the place is made by the welcome and solicitude of the hosts. The small attached café doubles as a breakfast and lunch place with a limited but freshly prepared menu mainly based on filled pita breads – all very nicely done. The location is perfect, one block behind the main square and close by the handful of tourist shops, galleries and gringo eateries. The ruins (if Tikal is New York, Copan is Paris…) are a pleasant twenty-minute stroll, or a one dollar (don’t pay more) bumpy tuk-tuk ride. Whatever you do, don’t miss out the excellent sculpture museum (best done first, before the site); or the small excavation history exhibit in the visitor centre.
