We just returned from 5 days in Copan, and I can't say enough about this amazing hotel. It's quite large, so there are many rooms to choose from and many options depending on the size of your party. Also, there are quite a few little quiet places to relax throughout the hotel, most are located in beautiful gardens. I had to do some studying, and found a lovely little outdoor/indoor living room with a sofa next to some fountains where I camped out for the afternoon--Perfect. It has a really lovely pool, although during semana santa it was packed with kids. Despite it being full, we found a few hours in the afternoon where it was empty and we could enjoy it ourselves. There is also a hidden little hot tub that is super romantic.

The rooms are beautiful--wood beams, nice finishes. The beds have feather tops, so they are squishy and soft. There are flat screen TVs, wireless internet, microwave and a fridge in each room, so bring some snacks. The room we rented had a separate bath (with a jacuzzi tub) and a shower. We never ran out of hot water, another plus. Also, each day they provided two bottles of water and coffee for the room.

In addition to the great space and comfort, the service was exceptional. Whatever we wanted, they brought to the room in under 3 minutes. Despite the place being at full capacity, we never felt it. The breakfast buffet was delicious, and we always found space at a table or in the bar if we wanted to relax.

For the price, the amenities, the location, the service and the food you simply won't find a better option in Copan.

Room Tip: The place is huge so you have a lot of options. We were given a very quiet room on the interior, so...

Our group stayed one night and were comfortable with the rooms and service. This is an old family home to which wings have been added. The original parts of the home can be visited together with family heirlooms and photographs. There is an internal swimming pool in the midst of a beautiful garden. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend 2 nights here if you are visiting Copan.

Room Tip: A high floor room might be an advantage for the views.

Noe Orlando Santos thanks for the great room! I think it was 259. Nice linens. Clean and comfortable. Refrigerator, coffee maker -no coffee one day and the front desk never sent it. This was the most expensive hotel we stay at in Honduras and as such, you expect the staff to be friendly and helpful, but they were uninterested. There is a computer for guests that is a little temperamental. The breakfast was not that great. I would get the lower rate without the breakfast and go to Via Via or Mary's. Service at the restaurant was also very unfriendly even though we left a nice tip every morning. Lots of tour groups in this hotel so there was not enough room to sit by the pool in the afternoon.

Room Tip: I think it was 259 suite with refrigerator and coffee maker

We stayed for two nights at the Hotel Marina in Copan. Because the original hotel was built for the archaeologists who were excavating the Mayan ruins at Copan, this is hotel is ideally located for tourists who wish to see the famous ruins.

Our stay was part of a guided tour across the Mayan sites as part of a 2012 "Jungle Kingdoms of the Maya" - we visited ruins in Mexico and Guatemala, and stayed in various lodgings along the way - and the Hotel Marina in Copan was certainly the nicest of the lot. It seemed quite luxurious compared to some of the more limited places we stayed earlier in the trip. For example, there was abundant water pressure and ample hot water! Nice! The rooms were clean and well lit! Beautiful flowers accenuate the grounds. An all-around excellent place to stay.

The only reason I don't give this hotel a full five star rating is that our room was on the first floor, and we could hear a lot of traffic outside the window.

During a recent trip to Honduras we stayed at this lovely hotel in Copan Ruinas. Located in the center of town it was an ideal place for visiting many of the areas attractions. If you arrive by car there is secure parking provided by the hotel at no cost. As it turned out our waiter in the restaurant also provided guide services when not working or arranged for tours through friends when not available. The food and service was everything one would hope for and the small gift shop had a wide range of offerings of local items. The Copan ruins were within walking distance from the hotel but prices being as they are here a taxi ride was also very reasonable.

Room Tip: The suite was the pace to stay. Very reasonably priced and a great place to relax after a days tour...

We loved our room at Hotel Marina. The bathroom was amazing with a jacuzzi tub, stone tiles and huge shower. Our room was on the second floor with a balcony overlooking the garden, where we could enjoy a cup of coffee and our lunch. The pool and hot tub were very nice as well.
All the food were had there was great and the breakfast was incredible! I loved Copan and definitely hope to go back and visit again!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony.

Marina Copan is a cheerful, delightful place to stay. It is a few steps from the town square in what must be one of the nicest and certainly safest towns in Honduras. The property is a rambling structure that opens onto a series of little courtyards, each with its fountain and lush tropical foliage. My room had not only a front door facing such a courtyard, but also a back door facing another! The room was large and comfortable and the bathroom had the biggest shower I have ever seen in a hotel. The hotel restaurant is really good, with a great menu of mostly local specialities. The Mayan ruins are a few minutes drive away.

This hotel is in a small town in a very poor country, so don't expect the Ritz! The room TV is from a previous generation, there's no room safe or mini-bar, the furniture may look a bit worn at the edges, and chances are that you will wait longer than you'd like to get your coffee at breakfast. Overlook these minor inconveniences, and you will have a really enjoyable stay in this lovely hotel.

Tip: a few of the rooms look out over a noisy alley -- make sure you don't get one of those!
