“Good place to stay in Copan”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 February 2014

very nice large room, with nice bathroom, everything we needed except perhaps a safe. it was very quiet when we stayed, we were alone on the second night. The whole place is well kept, and breakfast was served outside, the same dishes each morning. The downstairs rooms have very comfortable chairs outside them ,the upstairs ones just metal chairs. It is in a good position in Copan, easy to walk to restaurants at night, and felt very safe.

We stayed two nights here and we were the only guests. Casa is very centrally located and a short stroll from the main square. All the rooms looked lovely and the downstairs rooms opened out onto the lovely walled garden. Upstairs rooms where we were have a lovely terrace but no comfortable seating ( iron chairs vs padded armchairs like downstairs) which struck me as odd in a property so carefully furnished. As others have said the property is beautifully furnished with a range of antiques. The rooms are more simply furnished but perfectly adequate and reasonably large. They have a flat screen TV and fridge but oddly no safe. Shower is a reasonable size and modern. However steam shower did not do it for me although my husband loved it. If you have just a regular shower then the shower is disappointing - lacks power and sprays everywhere apart from the parts of your body you want it to hit! Whole property is very clean. There is wifi but it is very slow and coverage patchy. Whole property has stacks of ambience and is secluded and private.

Breakfast was always served in the garden on a beautiful table laid with fresh linen and flowers. It was a simple but perfectly adequate breakfast. Fruit and then one day eggs, the next pancakes. Just average in terms of quality. At this price which is expensive for Copan, I would have liked the choice of yoghurt and granola or in fact I would have just liked to be asked what I wanted. Unlike other reviewers no wine or coffee was waiting for us when we returned after a day's sightseeing but when I asked it appeared promptly and the next day it was offered.

They were very accommodating by allowing us to stay longer in the room at no extra charge. We had a pleasant and comfortable stay but experienced none of the warmth of service others refer to. It was perfunctory. No greeting unless we prompted with a good morning, hello etc, no questions or how our day was etc. We stay at several boutique hotels and I found this odd for a small property where we were the only guests.

Room Tip: Upstairs rooms have a terrace, downstairs open out into the gardens and for that reason I would choo...

This is a small intimate hotel with clean medium sized rooms. What I loved about this place (apart from the people) is that everything works: the plumbing, the aircon, the CD player. You get to take breakfast outside and the non English-speaking ladies bring what is on the menu that day, so every day is a surprise. I particularly liked the coffee jam. Yum!

Room Tip: All rooms are unique and lovely

The price was higher than we had paid previously for decent rooms in Guatemala. It was well worth it for us.
A very private property on the hill above the main square. There is only four rooms that look over a very secluded stone walled courtyard filled with plants and antiques. The rooms open onto covered terraces. Each room has very comfortable chairs and a table to have a glass of wine and rest ones tired feet after a day at the ruins.
We were the only guests the three days we stayed in Copan. We had anywhere from three to five staff looking after us. They would set a table in the garden with a white table cloth for our breakfast. Although not large it was well done and delicious. There was always fresh coffee waiting when ever we came in.l Although the staff did not speak a word of english we were able to communicate very well.
The room itself had a very comfortable queen size bed with nice linens. There was a wardrobe, night tables and luggage racks. There was a flat screen T.V. as well as stereo with suppled music. The bathroom had lots of towels and amenities as well as a bidet apparatus installed on the toilet. . There was a steam shower with piped in music. True decadence. We had the best sleep there of anywhere on our holidays.
Although at the time, after what we had been paying, it seemed like an extravagance it was well worth it. It is not often one can get that kind of luxury for such a reasonable price.
If I was going back I would stay again and would recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: I would prefer a ground floor room as you are right in the garden. Also the stone walls block out an...

... It has speakers! Truly a luxury stay for Copan. For the price, I would have expected more from the breakfast but for me it was just fine. Highly-recommended. Location is perfect with most bars and restaurants less than two blocks away.

This inn is beautiful. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful. The breakfast was perfect everyday. Their steam showers are unbeatable. We slept so well and looked forward to coming "home" everyday! Very safe, there was a staff available all the time. We are already planning our trip back!
