Is quite a cozy restaurant with all of the ornaments around and the grill next to the tables is a nice touch without forgeting the girls bringing you drinks and snacks on their head the price is a bit higher than other restaurants but the portions are big and do not forget about their happy hour.

Second visit to Carnita's and loved it as much the second time. I love the atmosphere, it's unique and quirky and touristy. I love sitting upstairs, incredible views and open. The food is "typico", meaning it's pretty much local kinda food.

I am a local living in Copan Ruinas and I know this restaurant very well. In fact the first time I ate there was in 1999. I have watched it evolve and grow and the food is always good and the service is above par. I reccomend it to all of my friends as a must see and go restaurant if not for the food then for the decor. Antonio the owner is a lover of antiques and collectables and the restaurant could easy leave you amazed at the number of items that are all over the place. I never go there that I don't see some new object hanging. The food is grilled over an open fire, and the servers balance the food on their heads as they serve you. The atomosphere is homey and casual. Know that there is an upstairs dining area as well and the views of the mountains are pleasant on a hot summer day. Great place for an afternoon beer as well. Since it is one of the oldest and most established restaurants in Copan Ruinas it is clear that the managment has the service down to an art form. Food comes out fast too.

Waitress staff carrying wine bottles and drinks and food on their head to the table, good quality food, nice atmosphere. No wonder it is busy and full of tour groups. Warning - portions are huge so order with caution.
