Along with places such as CCET and MUA, the MIN is one of the biggest patrons for contemporary Honduran art. If you're interested in a true immersive experience to the local culture, better not miss their exhibits! They also have a very interesting virtual tour of the Mayan Acropolis of Copan, a must see to revisit the experience or to learn more about Copan and it's mysteries.
They also have a nice gift shop with local artistic production.

The only downside is that due to its central location and Honduras' current political/social conditions, visiting at night is only possible by car, and the parking is scarce.

This is a wonderful museum, especially for those, who do not know much about the history of Honduras. It is in a beautiful building with nice stairs inside. The staff are very friendly; the girl at the admissions table spoke good English to explain everything about the visit. On the entrance, you have to leave your camera and cell phone in the locker. They told me that it is for political reasons, but I guess it is just security issues.
Although all information is in Spanish, for the price of 70 Lempira you get admission, an audio guide in English and a 3D movie showing the Copan ruins.

PS: it is also a good place to hide if you are overwhelmed by beggars :-).

This colonial building used to house all minister offices a long time ago and has since been turned into a museum, funnily old locals still call it " Palacio de los Ministerios", which can confuse you a bit when asking for directions. Inside you time travel through Honduran history, from prehispanic to recent history. There is a virtual tour of Copan Ruinas which is a nice experience and something to look forward if you are planning to visit the actual ruins. There are usually art exhibits as well, from local or international artists. It is an absolute must in Tegucigalpa.

Went there near closing time so we didn’t get to watch the movie. The museum doesn’t have explanations in english but they provided us a guide free of cost. He spoke great english and went through the museum. he talked about the main historical events. Really helped us better understand the country’s background and the culture. I highly recommend this attraction!

if you want to get a quick crash course on honduras, this is a good place. the 2nd floor housed the history from the beginning all the present. very informative. not too overwhelming. i went early hoping that I will be the first, but got beaten by a group of school kids.

1 hour would cover the whole walk-through but 2 hours if you like to read every details.
