There aren't many choices in Tegucigalpa, but this is a good one. It's not advisable to leave the hotel on foot, so I felt like a prisoner. (That's not the hotel's fault.) The service is good and the staff is attentive. Sometimes a little too attentive and it comes across as being insincere. I find it annoying that there is no wireless network in the rooms. The rooms and bathrooms are too dark but relatively comfortable.

Room Tip: You can't go wrong. All of the rooms are good. Perhaps the view facing the opposite direction...

I spent a couple of days in May attending some business meetings. The staff at the front desk was attentive and everything worked out well as expected. The rooms at the executive floor were clean and neat, too dark for my taste as well as the bathroom. The small flat screen on the room was not adequate for the room. The breakfast included at the exec lounge was average although one could expect better service from the staff there as people was usually inside the kitchen and left the lounge empty. The sports bar at the lobby level is ok, noisy. I ordered a hamburguer with fries and it was terrible but next day ordered a club sandwich and it was fantastic. The hotel is very well located in case you want to walk to other nearby restaurants like Hacienda Real or Tacontento, there is also a Mc D across the street.

The entire staff was very attentive, from the desk clerk to the wait staff (although the sports bar staff was a little slow). The restaurant was surprisingly good and moderately priced. I ate at the breakfast buffet every morning. Ample offerings, well prepared, omelets/eggs to order. I ate a few dinners there during my stay. Again, surprisingly good. The dinner menu was limited but still had enough to choose from. I had a steak that would rival the best steakhouse in the US. Even the house wines were good. My room was spacious. I liked that the desk had an outlet within easy reach; although lacking wi-fi on floors other than the lobby and the executive floor had me wedded to the ethernet cable. I also liked that there was an easy chair and ottoman in the room. The in-room safe was a little small for my computer. All in all, a really good stay. I do agree with another review that the lobby lounge can get quite noisy, making it difficult to relax while reading, etc.

Room Tip: I am not a fan of feather pillows and duvets--it made for a rough night of sleep but that is a perso...

Was there for a conference and it was surprisingly ok for the price. Restaurant was nothing flash and there is a strange sports bar on the lobby level but generally the staff were nice. Internet wifi was variable on the 10 th floor but fine elsewhere. The staff in the club lounge were lovely and a solid but simple breakfast was available. My colleague left her blackberry in a restaurant and the concierge drove her back to the restaurant late at night to find it - that was nice. I'd be happy to go back. Bed was very comfy!

The Marriott in Tegucigalpa, Honduras is not up to the standards for International Business. As a long time Marriott member and occasional customer, I try to make a point of staying at Marriotts when possible.

However, in Tegucigalpa, I have found my stay less than optimal. The rooms are great however (with one minor exception if you happen to stay on the fourth floor above the Aerobics room). The rooms are clean, the beds are great, and in general they fully meet the expectations and reputation of Marriott hotels the world over. Don't stay on the fourth floor if you like to sleep past 5:00 AM or want a nap in the late afternoon/early evening. The Aerobics class in the Spa/Gym on the 3rd floor plays loud music that only the deaf could ignore. Also, the Staff's courtesy and level of attention is excellent and on par with other Marriott's worldwide.

The main problem with the hotel, and why I will not stay here in the future, is that the lobby and only bar/lounge seems to cater to the local dance crowd vs. those here on business looking for a comfortable place to conduct business, have access to WiFi (only in the lobby, not in the rooms). The Lobby area, adjacent the "Sports" Bar does double duty as a large lunch area during the day and starting at around 11:00~11:30 they also crank-up the "House" music (dance beat) and keep this up through the evening. It makes having a professional discussion with colleagues, conducting work on your laptop and phone distracting if not difficult. And, makes having a professional meeting with clients, even if just a casual discussion, almost impossible. If not at least embarrasing.

I inquired as to why they must play the music so loudly, and why the only bar in this International standard hotel, is a strange combo sports bar (meaning a number of large screens with sports and no audio) combined with loud heavy beat music. The answer given was that, this is what Honduranas like, loud music. Plus, if people can talk, they don't drink so much. But if they can't hear each other, they drink more. Okay, fair enough. Clearly I'm staying at the wrong hotel to do business here.

Next time, I'll go back to the Maya Honduran Hotel. At least there we can sit in the lobby and have discussions.

We recently organized a workshop at this hotel for about 30 people for a full week. The staff was very professional and all services delivered as promised - rooms, food, meeting rooms, etc. The room rates were pretty good, we probably ordered too much food between lunches and breaks, the portions are very generous and the breakfast is really great. What I appreciated most was their flexibility and courteousness of all staff.

Room Tip: If you're on the side of the hotel where you can see HSBC, it can get a little noisy at night es...

I've stayed in this hotel four times over the past few months. The service has been great. Each time I've stayed on the executive level. The lounge is great, as is the sports bar down stairs.

One thing to note is the lounge is close weekends and the sports bar in the lobby gets pretty loud Friday and Saturdays.
