If traveling to Teguc, do not hesitate to stay at the Marriott. It is a beautiful, more resort styled Marriott with outstanding facilities. The hotel rates are extremely reasonable, and as mentioned, if you develop a relationship with the staff, are very negotiable. They strive to please in every way and will go out of their way to assist you in anything you need, especially transportation. Try to get on the upper floors to take advantage of wireless internet, if possible, and the executive lounge here is a sure bet for breakfast and in the evenings for a snack. The pool area is very nice, though not large, and the workout facility is nice. The spa has a number of nice treatments available at much less than you would see in most parts of the world. The housekeeping is excellent and the staff is pleasant. The restaurant food is decent, not great, Chili's is nearby or the staff will take you where you want to go. Great views from the rooms if you are up high. While not all or even most of the staff are bi-lingual, it's no problem here.

Room tip: Top floors are best...

Booked my room weeks in advanced, got to the hotel after flying all day, only to find they don't have any rooms available (ready), So I'm told to wait in the lounge until a room comes open/cleaned. After 2hours and watching numerous people check in, I ask again, if my room was cleaned/ready, and the answer is "we're sorry.l about the wait your room is not ready. 3 hours later and still nothing.

The hotel offers special rates with extended services if you can commi to a number of nights per year.
Good breakfast and dinner on the business lounge which is included in the rate.
Floors 10-12 include wi-fi in the room, the oly privilege that other floors do no have.
The stuff are very attentive and kind, they will always try to make you fill at home.

I traveled to Tegucigalpa last spring to work at the medical school hospital and stayed at the Marriott. It is quite close to the Escuela Hospital and therefore a convenient place to stay. I was fortunate to stay on the concierge level. The rooms were large and very clean. Housekeeping did a good job. The front desk was accommodating and fluent in English. Security was visible and helpful. The views from the higher floors were very interesting. The Resaurant food was good but not great.
I'll probably stay here on my next trip to TGU.

Room tip: If you can, stay on a concierge level. Good views and breakfast is included.

There aren't many choices in Tegucigalpa, but this is a good one. It's not advisable to leave the hotel on foot, so I felt like a prisoner. (That's not the hotel's fault.) The service is good and the staff is attentive. Sometimes a little too attentive and it comes across as being insincere. I find it annoying that there is no wireless network in the rooms. The rooms and bathrooms are too dark but relatively comfortable.

Room tip: You can't go wrong. All of the rooms are good. Perhaps the view facing the opposite direction of the street is a little more pleasant.
