We stayed for two nights at The Colonel's. We arrived late and the Colonel was waiting for us with a recommendation for dinner nearby - DePalma's, it was delicious. Our room was cozy with a wonderful bed and luxurious linens. The grounds were so peaceful. The Colonel prepared a full breakfast each morning and they were delicious - especially the pancakes, you have a choice of which fruit you want added. His knowledge of the history of the area is amazing and his recommendations for the best places to eat and visit were right on target.
It is close to everything, yet far enough out to afford a peaceful stay.

Room Tip: All rooms are beautifully decorated in the period.

We absolutely loved it here. Very friendly welcome. Large, spacious rooms in southern surroundings. The colonel arranged dinnerreservations and cooked us the best breakfast ever! We also loved taking to him; he learned us a lot about the American people!
We would love to return sometime!

Stayed here with my daughter while visiting her at UGa. The hosts, "Colonel Marc and Colonel Beth" were very welcoming and helpful. Beautiful setting just ten minutes from the university. Extremely comfortable beds, delicious breakfast. I will certainly return.

We needed a one night stay before moving on to the Great Smoky Mountains and Asheville, NC. What a great choice we made in staying at The Colonels. Wonderful hospitality and a well-appointed small mansion. Breakfast the next morning was just great. Colonel Marc was a superb host. Although we didn't need it, the property also includes stables and pastures for those travelers traveling with horses. Just wonderful.

Looking for a room on graduation weekend in Athens, Georgia is no treat, so we stumbled on The Colonels. It was a good move. Located in a modest farmhouse that over the last 150 years has morphed into a very respectable mansion, it couldn't have been nicer.

"The colonels", our hosts, combine European style with southern hospitality to good effect. Both are charming and accommodating, striving for the goal of making you feel like an invited guest in their home.

The antique furnishings, mainly from Europe, blend well with the house, giving it an elegant ambience.

During our stay, the breakfast was of two distinct characters. On Saturday, when all guests were hurrying off to the campus for the morning graduation ceremonies, the provisions were continental in nature, with rolls, sweet breads, jams and jellies, coffee and tea. The next morning, when everyone was more at leisure, bacon, eggs, and potatoes were added to the fare for a delightful and satisfying morning meal.

We stayed at the Colonels recently, and loved it! The setting is gorgeous, out in the countryside, with horses grazing nearby. The host and hostess were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and interesting. Rooms were perfect -- a mix of nice antiques and upscale, modern pieces. Soothing paint colors, nice amenities, gated, secure parking area. Breakfast was before a fire in the fireplace! Home-cooked hot breakfast, ample and delicious. We would definitely recommend this beautiful, elegant and comfortable B&B, and hope to return some day.
