Without a doubt this is our favorite Mexican restaurant in Athens. I've wondered what makes their food so different from others and have finally decided it is because they prepare your meal just before it is served. Whether vegetables or meats, the ingredients are raw until they are grilled for your burrito, tacos or whatever. At the Tallassee location you can see this happen if you sit at the bar. Pork and beef is marinated and tastes divine. Vegetable dishes include zucchini, spinach and mushrooms fresh from the grill. Their guacamole is different every time but always amazing and the pièce de résistance has to be the fresh-made salsas served with the meal. The green sauce is flavorful and spicy, but not too hot and their hot sauce is smokey, complex and very hot. When we get take out we save and use every drop!
