I remember when The Grit first opened back in the 80's. I wasn't really interested in vegetarian cuisine at the time, but I tried it anyway and have been crazy about The Grit ever since! I could eat their Hummus and their Tabbouleh every day of the week! Be sure to try the Black Bean Chile and the quesadillas are always a treat! Food is prepared fresh, they try to source as local and organic as possible, and service is always friendly. It's a funky little place that is still maintaining that awesome Athens vibe from the classic era of The Classic City. Love The Grit!
