You'll need to load the address in the GPS to find this place but it is worth it. They went for a Caribbean look both exterior and interior and do it well. The service was prompt and friendly, guess I timed it well. The Chicken Jerk dinner was delicious and it ran me $13. There are dishes that run quite a bit more if you want to pay. I would return in a heatbeat.

I've heard that this place has gone down from what it used to be, and I'd have to assume that's true. We were there on an Sunday evening, so I give them some slack because I know what it's like to work in the biz on Sundays. Still, for the price ($29 for the fried grouper entree, $12 for a shrimp caesar salad) you'd expect something a little above average, but this was not. Service was haphazard. Cute venue, but do not be fooled by the high rating, at least if you are planning to go on a Sunday.

We were seated first when the restaurant opened for lunch. They asked us immediately for our lunch order but it was our first visit so I asked for additional time. Took them quite a while to return for the order. The first meal came 50 minutes later and the other four meals came after we had been there an hour. The food was largely mediocre although the She-crab Soup was awful (no one would eat it) and my salad appeared to have been marinated overnight in dressing. The yellow rice, french fries, and chicken strips were well received. We liked the creek view from the window.

We'll not return.

We loved Rae's Coastal Cafe fifteen years ago when we lived in Augusta. We visited this past weekend and couldn't wait to see if Rae's was as good as we remembered. We were delighted to find the food as good as we remembered, the atmosphere as festive, and the service as friendly. Highly recommend!!

Took my parents here to celebrate Father's day as well as their anniversary. Of course we expected that they would be busy, and we were prepared for that. Unfortunately, the restaurant, and specifically our server, didn't seem to be prepared for business.

The server could not answer questions about the menu without leaving to ask someone else. He also seemed to get confused about which tables had been seated first and which orders to put in first. A table next to us was seated long after we were, but their food arrived long before ours did. In fact, they were almost finished with their meals by the time our soup arrived. The server brought 2 soups & asked if we wanted pepper. When we said yes, he had to leave the table to fetch the pepper. Then he had to leave again, for several minutes, to get spoons, which he should have brought with the soups! When the soup bowls were empty, he brought 2 salads, and repeated the pepper dance. Then, with only the pepper grinder in hand, he said he would be right back to clear the soup bowls. We didn't see him again for 10 minutes. He really seemed to need some training on how to multitask. Our drinks went dry long before anyone offered refills, several times.

Though we ordered the specials, which you would think would be easy to prepare, it took forever to get our food. And for the size of the portions, the food was way overpriced. It was also very salty, so it was hard to enjoy it.

We were simply not impressed. No explanation was offered for our long wait. The restaurant had almost cleared out by the time we actually ate. In spite of all we have read and heard about the key lime pie, no dessert was even offered to us. This restaurant simply was a disappointment for all of us.
