Our family of 6, 3 generations, stopped for horseback riding as we drove from Kona to Hilo. It broke the drive up and gave us great views of the valley. The horses were beautiful, well cared for and gentle. I also noticed how neat and clean the tack room was. These people do a wonderful job with riders of all ages and take time to match the rider to the horse. Our guides were brothers, Kaeo and Mana. The guys stopped at scenic overlooks and took pictures of us with our cameras so we have some nice group photos. The two and a half hour ride was plenty for us!

I might be biased because I got engaged during the 5 hour ride (at the waterfall) but we absolutely loved our tour. Chauncy was our guide and he was funny and very informative. The company has been around for a long time and he knew the trails like the back of his hand. We stopped along the way at scenic points for pictures and then had lunch at the waterfall. I suggest bringing a swimsuit and towel to change in and out of, unless you want to ride back with a wet bottom! The water was freezing, but swimming out there was well worth it and Chauncy took all sorts of pictures for us during and after the engagement. If you book this trip, do the long one. The 2 hour ride isn't worth missing the waterfalls!

I realize you can't control the weather, but even in good weather this ride was 5 hrs. of boredom.
You rode up a mountain trail to a ridge to view the water falls and ocean. We saw neither, due to heavy fog. Stopped at a small waterfall, where you could go swimming in 54' water if you want.
Had lunch, and then took short cut trail thru the woods back to the stables. It was so slow, that our guide got off and walked her horse most of the time. There is nothing to see going thru the woods, there ws not much to this tour, other than it was expensive for what you got. Never do it again, and would not recommend it.

Perfect for first time riders or people uncomfortable on horseback this mellow ride offers a beautiful piece of the Hawaiian country side. Experienced riders be warned this is a beginner ride. But the knowledgeable guides and well behaved horses made it extremely fun for everyone in our party. Will be booking again!

After researching trip advisor and checking out websites we decided on this company. So glad we did, we booked the 2 and half hour horseback ride in the morning. We had excellent guides and a wonderful time with beautiful waterfalls and great scenery. The horses were calm and very well behaived. I was so glad we went with this company we had a total of five people on our tour and when we were leaving we saw the other company come in with about 15 way to many people. This company has been around longer than the others and it shows. Make sure you do your homework before you pick your tours it is so worth it.
