You can sit and watch the waves and surfers here for hours. It is such a beautiful spot to watch and see the waves form!

Once you snorkel here, nothing else compares. But you need to get there in early morning to get a parking spot and while the surf is calmest, generally, from April-Sept.

If you like to snorkel, Tunnels Beach is a great place. You can almost count on going past Tunnels and parking in the park area, then walking back to the access to Tunnels Beach. Walking on the road is a lot easier than walking from the park in the sand to Tunnels. But once there, walk to the eastern most sandy entrance to the water and let the current carry you west while you observe the reef and the beautiful fish. Tip: Keep your feet off of the reef. There were quite a few people there that didn't seem to have a problem stepping on the reef. That's a no-no wherever you go. Water depth is your choice - from a few feet deep to over 20. Very clear and a great time.

Wow, what great free snorkeling. It's everything the guide books say it is. But it is best visited during the summer months. Parking is limited. Be patient, go early or wait till after lunch. People will be leaving then. Lots of turtles, amazing fish in soooo many colors. Just go!!

This is a snorkler's paradise. The reef is so large that it can be seen from outer space! There are too many different species of fish to count and they're all around you! There is not much parking. Just two short streets/alleys and they fill up with cars early in the morning. There is more parking at a nearby beach but the spaces fill up almost as quickly, plus you have to walk a long way over course sand to reach Tunnels. (Course sand means you sink down with every step.) It's worth the effort, though. As noted, the snorkeling is amazing. Just be careful to enter and exit the water where the bottom is sandy. Walking across the reef in the shallows damages the reef.
