We first stayed at this property on our first trip to Maui about 12 years ago. At the time it was branded as an Embassy Suites hotel. After many subsequent trips to Maui and a brief 4 1/2 year stint of living on the island we came full circle and again stayed at this property in May, 2014. The resort is now part of the Diamond Resorts timeshare group and although we are not timeshare people we had enjoyed our stay at their beautiful property in San Jose del Cabo and decided to try this property. The front desk staff was excellent. We were assigned a renovated room overlooking the pool with a partial ocean view. The room was quite spacious as we had remembered from our previous stay with a kitchenette which included a full sized refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher. We had a separate living room and bedroom with a very large bathroom. There were large flat screen tv's in both rooms as well as a dining table and sofa in the living room. Our main issue with the property is the public areas (with the exception of the large pool area). The lobby and exterior of the building look very tired and dated. Unlike most of the other resort hotel lobbies in Maui this place is just drab. We only had one meal at the hotel restaurant which was very good but there was really no service at the pool. Typically by late afternoon a server would finally walk around the pool area but there didn't seem to be any real attempt to welcome guests to order any food or beverages at the pool. The hotel could probably generate more revenue if this area was given more attention. The hotel staff were are very cordial and we felt very welcome. We would probably not return to this hotel unless the property is given a major facelift and updating.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with the feedback of your recent stay at our resort. Our team members will be very happy to hear you appreciated their diligent efforts and friendly attitudes. We are glad you chose to return to our resort and were pleased with your spacious and fully equipped accommodations.
You will be happy to hear that we are currently working hard to bring our resort up to the standard our guests have come to expect and deserve. Some of our projects on the 2014 agenda are; remodeling of the lobby pillars, refinishing the lobby furniture, replacing the chandeliers, replacing light sconces, bringing in fresh plants to enhance the island feel, fitness center remodeling, and several pool renovations.
Regarding your pool-side service concerns, we certainly will take your feedback into account when looking into ways to better our customer service. We sincerely hope that you will visit us again to see all our current projects in place and have an even more relaxing Hawaiian getaway.

This was our first trip to Maui and we found the Ka'anapali Beach Club to be lovely. We had an ocean view room that also overlooked the pool. After a long day of travel it was nice to be greeted with a warm Aloha and smile. We found the pool to be very nice but unfortunately umbrellas are at a premium and folks tend to "reverse" their chair which they aren't suppose to do. That being said, we did enjoy the pool. I can't say enough about how kind and helpful the staff was from the bartenders to the front desk to housekeeping to servers and the valets. The breakfast buffet is $13 if you buy 4 days worth and this was well worth it. Being as this was our 1st trip to the island (we've traveled the Carribean extensively) we decided to talk with the concierge to get some hints. While she was helpful, she suggested that is we attend a 55 minute owner update (we own 2 timeshares already) and she'd give us discounts on tours. We specifically asked 3 times if this was going to be a presentation/sales pitch and were assured it was not. Don't believe them, we sat for 2 hours - our mistake and lesson learned, never again. I could go on about the sales person and his superior attitude but won't bore you. Aside from this waste of 2 hours Ka'anapali Beach Club is a gem and you will enjoy it.

We are really pleased and delighted to hear that our accommodations, amenities, and customer service exceeded your expectations here at Ka’Anapali Beach Club. Your recommendation is greatly appreciated. As we are primarily a Vacation Ownership resort, solicitation of attending a sales presentation is part of the check in process. However, this presentation is entirely optional. We are very sorry that our sales presentation soured your otherwise positive stay here at Ka’Anapali Beach Club. Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and we will make sure to pass this along to our Sales team. We look forward to seeing you again very soon in the near future!

Best Vacation Resort stay i have ever had. I have been all over and been to Maui, Kuai, Ohau before. KBC is the most beautiful, well kept resort on the island Hands down. Overwhelmingly Beautiful. Immaculate kept grounds. We arrived, late Friday night and stayed in a dump near the airport, took an early morning drive up the coast and arrived at KBC pretty early. Too early to check in, so we enjoyed exploring the grounds and taking pictures. about 10am, we went and talked to the front desk staff. We talked to Bonnie and told her we knew we were way early to check in and asked what would be a good time to check back. She went ahead and pre-checked us in so we could take full advantage of the grounds. I believe this helped us get a great room because most people most likely fly in and arrive much later in the day and not able to get a great room. Thank you Bonnie for being wonderful. she provided top notch service. All of the staff there goes above and beyond the call of duty to make sure you have a great stay and KBC experience. We were not interested one bit in talking to anyone about the time share presentation, and honestly, KBC doesnt need people to do that. its an annoyance. who wants to fly 5,000 miles to be bothered with that. we will continue to stay at KBC and no where else each time we come to Maui. The resort and excellent staff, just by being who they are sold us on that. I hear a lot of people complain about the color, but they dont realize why the color pink was chosen and what it means to the Hawaiian people. Pink, means Family. when you are at KBC, they make you feel like family. Some people complain about the littlest things. If you want a good room, get there early. simple as that. If you want exceptional good service, visit Adam at the Bar and grill. That guy rocks and we hope Bonnie and Adam are there next year for our 3rd anniversary trip. There are plenty of shops and stores very close. I cant simply say enough great things about KBC. you are your staff made our stay unforgettable and we are sold and will continue to visit every year....and you didnt have to try and sell us through a waste of time "time share" presentation. honestly, if we had to do that, we wouldnt revisit. the grounds and staff sold us. love how friendlt the birds are. they will eat out of your hands. the pool area is huge and incredible. the breakfast buffet is excellent. we ate every day. The friday night movie by the pool is excellent. Overall, there is no better place to stay. drive around the island and take a look. you'll see.

Room Tip: arrive as early as you can, do a prebook. if you dont, it will fill up and you will have to take a n...

Traded a timeshare in order to stay here. Great service. Every employee is trained to say "is there anything else I can help you with?" after every single encounter from the maintenance man to the towel boy. Became a running joke after a while. They upgraded our room without us asking, from a one-bedroom to a nice 2 bedroom unit.

We have been timeshare owners for about 4 years, and our first trip was about 5 years ago. They have not only maintained the beautiful grounds, but they have made some subtle improvements. The water slide was enclosed into a tunnel form. We stayed in remodeled roos that were gorgeous. There were some additional paths and walkways added in the front of the resort that added to the aesthetics. It is still not a top resort for the area, but it is a very nice resort that has the added perk of a vastly extended beach walk that begins only about a couple hundred yards south of the beach. That makes the walk to Black Rock and the restaurants and activities in that area easy to walk if you choose.

The service at Ka'anapli Beach Club is good, with one notable exception. The smoothie/coffee/sandwich shop. The ladies there are rude, tried to charge for a small dinkie cup of butter after we had made many purchases there, and closed early for break as they watched my pregnant wife approaching for a smoothie. The lady even acknowledged that she was going on break (5 minutes before the posted time) and refused to serve my wife, instead telling her to read the sign. We provided the feedback to the resort, and hopefully this area will catch up to the bar, front desk, and concierge staff. In particular, the staff at the bar and restaurant are great.

We recommend a stay at Kaanapali Beach Club. Bring a family and enjoy the location, whale watching from shore in the right season, and turtles swimming up to the shores. It is a great place.

We stayed here because we know Ka'anapali Beach is wonderful but this hotel is not really in a good beach location. The chairs have to be placed above the beach area because it is so small and not good for swimming. We had to go to different beaches in the area for that. And that is the main reason we selected this hotel so we were very disappointed in the location for the beach aspect but it is convenient to others things (such as Lahaina and public beaches).

Otherwise it was a very nice place to stay, the pool area, etc. were very beautiful and fun. My sister and her husband had a very nice room (which was a sitting area/bedroom/and an extremely huge bathroom!) overlooking the ocean/pool area. Our room did not have a good view though, it did have a view of the mountains but unfortunately that includes the parking lots and streets.

The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Request an ocean view room at least.

We are time share owners and traded into this resort through our exchange company. When we checked in, I asked for an ocean front room. When the desk clerk found out we are VIP owners with another company, the super friendly smile was gone and she quickly informed me that ocean front room are for their owners and we would get special treatment at our own place so we should understand. We were also asked if we were there for a special occasion and I told them it was our anniversary. We were then offered a room with 2 double beds, which I declined. We were given a room on the third floor overlooking the parking lot and it was filthy. I've seen nicer cleaner furniture sitting at the curb waiting for trash pickup. There was also a horrible odor and the carpet was so dirty that I was afraid to take off my shoes. We went back to the desk and told them this room was unacceptable and they did move us up a couple floors to a renovated room, but we spent our anniversary trip in a room with 2 double beds. I'm only giving this a Very Good rating because of the amenities. The restaurant and bar are great and my favorite waitress Kelly was super. There's beach access and the guys in the towel shack are great. There's a lot of activities and my husband went scuba diving for a very reasonable price. Do go to the orientation because they have a lot of information and it's not a timeshare pitch. The breakfast available for purchase is good. There's lots of fees, especially if you're not an owner and they put a $250 hold on our credit card when we checked in. It's also supposed to be a non-smoking resort, but there were people smoking on the balconies which made sitting outside difficult at times. We weren't pressured into attending the time share demo because I think the look I gave her when it was suggested, after we were refused an ocean front room, was sufficient. When we return to Maui I doubt if we will stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a renovated room.
