“Best burger ever!”
Reviewed 8 April 2014 via mobile

We found Bully's by accident last year. Happy accident! They have the best beef I have ever eaten. We had to make the trip out there this year. Well worth the drive.

“Crazy Good Burger”
Reviewed 11 October 2013 via mobile

Drove up here on a recommendation from a friend and were so happy we did. These burgers are delicious and grilled fresh. Got a chance to talk to the owner. Great guy. Explained how their cattle graze freely and live off the scrub. These are not 100% grass fed cattle, but this is completely organic. In addition, they don't cut the steak out of the beef they use the whole cow for these true "steak burgers."
The drive from either direction is beautiful and winding. The service is friendly and open. Picnic tables are shared. Great place to meet new people.
There is a giant pet pig in a pen. He's smelly but he begs like a dog for food, which cracked us up.
This is a true authentic experience with delicious burgers. Don't go expecting Dairy Queen.

“GREAT burgers and a great end to a long day”
Reviewed 5 September 2013

We did the whole road to Hana, didn't backtrack, but went the entire way around, so after a long day and a lot of time in the car, Bully's is like an oasis in the middle of nowhere. Its at about MM 18 on the highway.

The food didn't come fast, but it was one of the greatest burger's I've ever had. There were picnic tables to sit at or some people were just eating in their car. Its on the highway right above the lava fields and la perouse bay where we were the day before, so it was fun to watch the sunset and eat a burger in an empty part of Maui. Really cool.

“A Most Unique South Maui Experience!”
Reviewed 5 September 2013

Bully's Burgers. Great burgers in South Maui! You won't believe it when you see it. But you will when you taste it. Especially if you carefully order your burger to make it your own version of the best burger in paradise.
Been there today. Going back tomorrow. Bully's. Ask him for a franchise in your city. Snooze, you lose.
It's on the road past Hana. Way past Hana. Off the grid. Solar-powered. Just before the Tedeschi Winery Tasting Room, q.v.
Get some of Tedeschi's Pineapple Wine -- I like the Blanc -- dry with a pineapple nose and a surprise back. Awesome. Who knew a pineapple could be so approachable?

IMHO: if you go to Maui and you don't do Bully's, you haven't done Maui. Unless you're Oprah -- then you own much of Maui. (Including a nice road the rest-of-us would like to be able to drive.)
(Note to Oprah: In your will, could you leave your private road to the Maui government so we can in the future circumnavigate the island at makai level, eh?)

“Quirky but worth a stop”
Reviewed 28 July 2013

If you're doing the fully Hana loop (ie. driving the road to Hana and then continuing on west around the other side) this is one of the very few places to eat. We did the full loop (wife and I, and our 4 kids ages 19, 16, 14 and 5) and had read about Bully's. By the time we got there we were starving and tired. Didn't know what to expect. Here's the skinny - it's basically a shack that a rancher has put up. The woman who cooked and served us was very nice (moved there from Alaska). View of the ocean. Felt like the middle of nowhere.

The burger was good, lots of condiment options. Meat seemed kind of lean (this is 100% grass fed beef) so it wasn't the gooey, melt in your hand type thing, but we were starving, it was tasty and hit the spot.
