“Some of the best snorkeling on Maui”
Reviewed 30 October 2013

Like Chris (previous reviewer) said, you have to look beyond the common to find the gems on TripAdvisor - this is a great example.
You can park below the Napili General Store (limited spots), or up on Lower Hono.... (sp), and walk down to Napili Beach. (BTW, this is a 5 star beach! but few or no Honu) Once on the beach, go left (south), follow the 'trail'. Try and respect the Napili Pt private property as best you can - they paid for privacy!
It's a clamber down to the water - watch your step, its at your own risk. If the surf is high, this might not be your day, because... To get into the water, you have a step/slide/half jump into the water, and the rocks are shallow here. The best plan is to NOT DAWDLE - get your [--] together and get to open water ASAP. Be careful, and have a great time!
Ahhh - the water can be cold, don't overstay your welcome, maybe wear a rash guard. Sun can be fierce here, of course.

“Fantastic snorkelling”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

There are only 8 reviews at the time I write this review so very few people will find it on TripAdvisor sorting by most popular. But every review is 5 star and so is this one. This is actually a good lesson about how to use TripAdvisor and to not only focus on the activities with tons of reviews.

The Bay is circled by resorts so access is not easy but if you might be able to park at a resort and walk in. We stayed at the Napili Point Resort which borders a common access point to the Bay (to the right of the pool). Access into the water is very rocky (and I mean large slippery rocks) but once in it is worth it. There really are turtles everywhere. We saw our first ones within 3 minutes of entering the water. Lots of fish too. None of the other reviews are exaggerating!

“Turtles love this cove”
Reviewed 22 April 2013

We stayed at a condo on this cove and snorkeled in the cove every day. We snorkeled with the turtles daily. We could see them even from our condo lanai. Beautiful views and area

“Gigantic turtles were incredible”
Reviewed 2 December 2012

We snorkeled here one afternoon and it was amazing. There are TONS of gigantic sea turtles. We saw many types of fish, eels, and many, many turtles. It was a very incredible experience. We entered the bay from the resort just to the north of the bay. This was very rocky and somewhat dangerous. Be careful because the waves can come in and push you towards the rocks. While snorkeling it was pretty calm and amazing underwater, just be careful entering and exiting the water as it is rocky and quite slippery.

“Turtle Love!”
Reviewed 25 October 2012

We read the previous reviews and set out to find this hidden treasure. It turned out to be a little hard to discover, but when found, absolutely worth the effort. Turtles everywhere. More than we saw on our paid excursion. We stayed only about 30 minutes and stopped counting at more than 12 different turtles (at that point we couldn't tell if it was one we had seen before). So getting there right now is a little difficult. Park in the road outside Honokeana Cove condos (under construction currently). There is a path to the north next to the mailbox with the giant turtle on it. Go down the path and into the condo complex gate next door -- you will see a pool. Walk down to the end of the point to find the safest entry point among the rocky edge. Be careful getting in and out. Take just your snorkel equipment as there is nowhere to leave a lot of stuff -- just shoes.
