Aloha the Makapuu lookout is perfect for a Sunday drive with my dad. You pass Hanauma Bay and Sandy Beach along the way. Halfway up the hill on the right is the turnout for the Makapuu Lighthouse trail. Very easy trail. Whales to see, WWII lookouts and the lighthouse. Go early! take water...it gets hot and the parking fills up. This is a free and must -do hike for families in Hawaii. Today we went past that and up to the top. There's parking and wheelchair/walker access here. The view is spectacular and we were entertained for thirty minutes by a parasail. Wow! You see parasailors and hang-gliders here all the time. The Sea Life Park is just below as well. Easy drive and very pretty. Regardless of your "ability" this is a fun place to go.
