“Simply stunning!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 May 2014

If you want the iconic picture of Hawaii (or any other paradise), this is the location to go to! Words cannot describe how amazing it is. This is basically the same view as the Makapuu Lighthouse Trail, but without the two mile hike. A must see!

“"Hanging" at Makapuu Lookout”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 May 2014

Aloha the Makapuu lookout is perfect for a Sunday drive with my dad. You pass Hanauma Bay and Sandy Beach along the way. Halfway up the hill on the right is the turnout for the Makapuu Lighthouse trail. Very easy trail. Whales to see, WWII lookouts and the lighthouse. Go early! take water...it gets hot and the parking fills up. This is a free and must -do hike for families in Hawaii. Today we went past that and up to the top. There's parking and wheelchair/walker access here. The view is spectacular and we were entertained for thirty minutes by a parasail. Wow! You see parasailors and hang-gliders here all the time. The Sea Life Park is just below as well. Easy drive and very pretty. Regardless of your "ability" this is a fun place to go.

“Spectacular!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 April 2014

Initially we wanted to do the lighthouse trail but my 7 year old son vetoed the idea so we settled for the lookout point. We were not disappointed. We spent at least 30min there taking pictures and just gazing at the view. The highlight for me was watching the surfers waiting to catch a wave at least 500 yards off shore. Call it bravery or stupidity but you have to give those guys credit for even venturing out that far. Highly recommended!!

“Beautiful view point”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 April 2014

Even if you only stay for a few minutes, it's worth your time to take a short break to take in this pretty scenic stop. The ocean was very colourful for us, even though it wasn't very sunny. You don't need much time, but I wouldn't miss it if I had 5 minutes to spare.

“Watch the sunrise here!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 March 2014

If you are staying at Waikiki drive west and see a sunrise here. Absolutely gorgeous!! It's easy to park and you can walk down closer to the water. Great view of the lighthouse as well.
