My family of six, youngest is age 5, traveled to Silverwood Theme Park from Bremerton, Wa, not knowing what to expect. We spent one day there and were more than pleasantly surprised. We got discount tickets beforehand which always makes everything easier. The theme park has something for everyone. A nice, fairly large area for children 42" and under. Even the bigger kids had things to do, like climbing in the tree house and trying to squirt eachother with shooting devices. The park has two water rides, one barely gets you wet, the other soaks you, clothes and all. We suggest doing this the hottest part of the day, maybe bring extra clothes, or use a poncho you can purchase for under $3. It was a blast. Then there are the bigger rides, 2 wooden roller coasters and one metal corkscrew roller coaster. Our 7 year old went on all three, but on Tremors, the biggest and scariest, he wouldn't attempt a third ride. The park is large enough to have a day of fun and be very tired at the end, but small enough to let the older kids roam by themselves, they are 12 and 14. We provided them and us two-way radios and specific instructions concerning safety and strangers.
I would definetely go back there in a couple of years. No outside food or drink is allowed inside the park and food is very expensive. Buy a couple of water bottles and fill them up at the restroom water fountains which are very cold and refreshing. Restrooms are decent and all around the park. I would recommend Silverwood Theme Park to everyone who wants a very do-able, fun, family vacation for small to older kids.
