“Best of both Worlds- Theme and Water Park all in one”

Silverwood Theme/Water Park ~ entertainment for the entire family. We started our day off by riding the train through the park because our grandson loves trains. The train does stop for approx 5-7 minutes, as they do a skit and donations are welcome. You do not have to donate if you do not wish to.

We stayed at the RV park walking distance to Silverwood. The RV Park has 125 sites and was full, so we stayed in the overflow. Nice because you can leave the park, eat lunch or put the little ones down for a nap and return to the park later.

The tickets cost $40.99 at the gate but you have access to both water and theme park. Purchase tickets at Costco in Idaho and save money. Food prices and clothing were cheaper than most water/theme parks. A bottle of water was $2, elephant ear cheaper and better than most places. There were discounts if you went on a Wednesday. Kids under 3 are FREE, which is a nice deal. Prices after 5pm cost $20.99.

Ride Aftershock, the scariest rollercoaster ever and the Avalanche Raft ride was awesome, as well. The log ride and Thunder Canyon fun, fun.

Pro’s- theme/water park in one, go to both once you enter the gate, food inexpensive, not so crowded, nice friendly people, and clean. Clothing very cheap and made well.

Con’s- need to open earlier, don’t charge for the tubes for the lazy river (even though you can float w/o tube), better structure on the old car ride and you have to pay to get people wet on the log, thunder canyon and bumper boat rides.
I enjoyed Silverwood more than Disney land. Lines less crowded, people are nice, and inexpensive.

“Poorly Managed”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 July 2010

If you have never been to another theme park, you might enjoy Silverwood. If you have ever been anywhere else, then you know there are better parks. Since it was our first time at the park, we decided to take the train ride to see the park layout first. Lucky for us the train had just reached the station. We get on and sit, and sit and sit. The lady in front of us says she is thirsty and she leaves the train and comes back with several waters. Her mother tells her she would like a latte. The lady leaves the train again and comes back with the lattes! After at least thirty minutes, the train takes off. We are told to expect a train robbery and that the money collected will go to charity. That's right, they actually expect you to make a donation! Along the way, they mention that parents should tell little ones that the gunshots are make believe "just like Mr. Rogers with a .45!"
after a few less than spectacular rides, we decided to go to the water park. Here's the kicker: you have to pay extra to rent a tube. Now the rides are supposed to have park supplied tubes, but you are lucky if you can get one. If you rent a tube, you are stuck having to drag it around with you.
Our last ride of the day was the water rapid ride. What should have been about a ten minute wait took forty minutes (there are no approximate wait times listed). The problem was that they had only one person running the attraction. There was a big problem with line cutting. Also, there was no single rider line, so if the raft didn't have eight riders, the boy running the ride would go through the line asking if there were single riders. Often the ride would go with less than filled capacity. (we only had five of the eight seats filled on our raft).

“Fantastic Family Fun!”

We took our two kids (ages 12/15) to this place, and we couldn't believe our eyes! You get half waterpark, and half rollercoasters, etc. Prices not bad at all. The waterpark was a blast. I highly recommend this place. Don't even mess around with the much smaller and limited places, such as Great Wolf Lodge in Washington State... The trip out to Idaho is well worth it. You get sooooo much more for your money! And the ability to not get locked into a hotel. Trust me, we have been to them all, and this one is a gem out in the woods! Beautiful area and tons of stuff to do all day. In fact, two days would really give you the max benefit here, but you can do it all in a single day... Start early and leave late. You will be completely worn out and spent. THis place even blows Wild waves away. There is just more to do here. Bottom line. hope this helps, and yes we will be back (each summer) ! :)

“Something for everyone”

We've been here with the kids 3 times I think. The water park is a favorite on a warm day. There are several roller coasters too scary for my 7 and 9 year olds. Costco is the place to get discount tickets. Once a year is enough.

“Pretty Awesome!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 October 2009

We went in September and perfect timing, no crowds, lines went very fast. We did the rides first but next time we will do the water park and then the rides. Two wooden roller coasters there, the family loved them. The kids section was great. Lots of fun for little money.
