When attending a family member's funeral, I decided to stay at this Holiday Inn Express. As I have said before, I think that Holiday Inn Express is the most consistent out of the chain roadside hotels. In general, this was no exception.
The good parts: The hotel was very nice. The beds were very comfortable. Wi-Fi was free and AT&T reception was excellent. There was a Keurig in the room, which is becoming more common. There was a good-sized refrigerator in the room. The room was generally very clean. The bathroom was roomy. The flat-panel LG TV was the biggest that I have seen in a hotel of this caliber, and it even had HD programming. Service was excellent - I was checked in and out fast.
The bad parts: Many of the breakfast items ran out fast. Granted, I was still able to grab a cinnamon roll and a pancake, but items like bacon and sausage were all gone. Also, room 613 had a red wine spot on the carpet that needs to be shampooed. While not a big deal for me, this hotel is under the final approach pattern of an O'Hare runway, so something to consider if you hate jet noise.
Other than those two details, it was another very good stay. And yes, I did say at the memorial "... but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night" because well... I did.More
