“Family Trip to Aurora - stayed here”
Reviewed 12 April 2012

Comfort Suites is our usual Aurora hotel. Pretty nice and fairly good value for the dollar. Breakfast is served every morning and is about two notches above "continental." Not Haute Cuisine, but better than pastries and coffee. About equal to McDonald's. They change the They also began serving hot soup/chili in the evenings, which was a pleasant surprise. One of my kids loves soup, so he hit this offering every night.

We stayed five nights this trip. The room is typical for a Comfort Suites. Our favorite feature of this hotel is it's proximity to the train station (about 100 yards away). Because this is the end of the line for the trains, you do not get the typical noise associated. One of our favorite things to do while visiting the area is to take a train into Chicago. They terminate in Union Station which is an architectural wonder and we always enjoy seeing. We then cross the street from Union Station to CVS to buy an all day CTA bus pass (about $6 per head). We take the city buses to Miracle Mile, Navy Pier, Chinatown, and all the Museums. Willis (Sears) Tower is within walking distance.

Anyway, back to the hotel: It is NOT in a bad neighborhood, and walking to the nearby casino is really not a problem. Never had a problem, but it is also not in the high rent district either. I would appreciate it better if they had double queen beds instead of double-doubles as we travel as a family. The rooms all do have fold out sofa beds and microwaves, which is a plus. The kids love the pool and jacuzzi, the decor is Train Nouveau (quaint). We really prefer the first or second floor, as the lobby stairs are accessible to both. The third floor is less picturesque due to the lack of the stairs.

Staff is always good. Rates are pretty good for Aurora. Decor is nice. Food is better than most. Above average, but not spectacular.

We would like to thank you immensely for taking the time to share Your experience. We do have some good news we will be switching our double beds to two queens very soon. We are glad you liked the soup/ Chili as it is a new amenity at our property and not found at all Comfort Suites. We're glad we continue to be your choice for lodging in Aurora!"

Thank you again- Tom Stahl Director of Sales

We stayed here on a Wednesday night. The room was nothing to write home about. It was clean and adequate. We did visit the casino that night, but chose to drive and park at the casino instead of walking (even though we could see the casino from our room) since this hotel is not in a 'safe' location in my opinion and I am pretty comfortable in most places. The continental breakfast was wonderful...lots of pastries, good coffee, waffles, yogurt, eggs, etc. I would stay here again if I had business in downtown Aurora since it is close to everything.

Room Tip: The room was a suite so it did have 1 king side bed and a hide-a-bed couch that was twin sized. Get...

When I am doing business in Chicago, I always stay at the Comfort Suites in Aurora. It is a little off the "beaten path" in Aurora, but well worth the trip to get there. The hotel is always imaculate. The staff is unfailingly friendly and the breakfast is very, very nice. It is just across the parking lot from the historic "round house" restaurant which was once a round house that serviced old steam locomotives. The train that goes into Chicago is also just across the parking lot so this hotel would be a perfect "headquarters" for excursions into the "Windy City". I am a long-time, diamond member of the Choice Hotels frequent guest program and can say without reservation that this is my favorite Choice Hotel to stay at.

Room Tip: If you love trains, stay on the track side of the hotel.

Nice and clean room, helpful staff, hotel seemed clean and very nice.

However breakfast was terrible. They advertised as a hot breakfast. The only hot item was scrambled eggs with ham (lukewarm). Or make your own waffle. The other choices were cold hard boiled eggs, one type of muffin, a couple variations of cereals (but no milk), rock hard bagels, and that is it.

Thank you for your response. It sounds like everything wasn't perfect with your stay. Our new Hot Breakfast is a consistent and prescriptive breakfast at all Comfort Suites Hotels and we're sorry it didn't meet your expectations this time. I assure you, since installing it our scores for Breakfast Satisfaction are through the roof! We will make sure however that the product is consistent everyday and that there is no lapse in quality. We take your feedback seriously. We are sorry you didn't notice our Milk Dispenser located on the breakfast line. It has been there since we opened. We will take your response back to Choice hotels and perhaps ask for larger print MILK signage to better identify our Dispenser.

We have stayed at this property many times which for us was a different room each time. I have to say every time from the start of entering the hotel we have not been disappointed. The front desk personnel has always been polite and helpful, our room is clean, spacious and updated, complimentary breakfast is plentiful and the beds are comfortable which gives us a very rest filled sleep!! The train station is located behind the hotel, however you do not hear any noise from the trains. Many different restaurants and activities in the area. This hotel is one of our favorites! We are traveling to Tennessee soon, which of course I booked a Comfort Suites there also. I'm just hoping we will be as satisfied there as we are to the one in Aurora!! Fingers crossed!!

This hotel was what every hotel should be--clean, friendly, great beds, large bathrooms, and
a very quiet night's sleep. It was within walking distance to two wonderful restaurants. The staff was very friendly and so helpful! And the breakfast that is included was very good as well.
My daughters and I came for a family reunion; the location was perfect. We absolutely will choose this hotel next time. I have never taken the time to write a review, but this hotel was so great that I highly recommend it!

Room Tip: We chose two double beds for 3 grown-ups and we were very comfy. The bathroom was large enough for...
