This is a popular dining choice in Avon, so we tend to dine here only on off-peak times to avoid long waiting times for a table. Once, recently, we stopped here to eat, only to find the waiting line out the door…which we thought odd with only a few other cars in the parking lot. Disgusted customers ahead of us in line were turning around and leaving, so we moved up quickly. Eventually we learned that the hostess had not shown up for work and apparently no one else there knew how to show customer arrivals to their tables! Hungry customers were made to just stand in line, waiting indefinitely. Very strange. So there can be major management lapses at this particular location (O’Charley’s is a chain restaurant). Nevertheless, the menu here offers a variety of choices and the food is usually above average. The pricing is usually in the $25 range for two without alcoholic beverages. The service is average for a popular restaurant, and certainly not spectacular. The décor is pleasing and they have a nice assortment of big screen TV’s well-placed around the rooms. We usually eat in the adults-only bar area.
