this place named within the world cultural heritage list. But many renovations are needed and I dont know why Algerians don't do it.

“Once in enough”

An interesting place but go only with an experienced guide or you will get lost. Some hidden treasures; you cannot tell at all what is behind each door - sometimes squalor, sometimes a palace.

“Authentic”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 April 2013

Kasbah of Alger is an authentic experience, we visited it during daytime, it was crowded, but not overcrowded. We visited it without a guide, but with the info from tourist centre, which is nearby. It's safe to do, it's much quieter than visiting a soekh in Morocco, and you get to visit the nice places. Unfortunately, place des martyres is under construction, which is a good thing, but you can't visit the beautiful mosque in the Kasbah
