El Aurassi is an hotel for international travelers. It is really nice. Rooms are large, with two bathrooms (one for the toilet and one for the shower/bath). There are large balconies from which (at least from my room) you can sip a glass of Algerian wine and enjoy the amazing sunset on the port.
Breakfast is good... actually not amazing, but you can eat tons of amazing dates, especially if you visit Algeri during the period Sept-Dec.
Wifi is not very good though. Be prepared: international SIM cards sometimes do not work... but the place is amazing!!! Algeri a town to see..

Room Tip: ask room with see view!

Expensive hotel but poor service. Cashier cannot even correctly invoice even with the help of a calculator makes mistakes. Room service is slow and inconsistent . Personnel argue with clients and find excuse for non delivering quality. No douchette in toilets. No taxis.

Room Tip: sea view rooms

When I look forward from my window I was overwhelmed by the astonishing view. Rooms are very nice. Terrace also very nice for a coffee or a drink. I cannot tell this about breakfasts and food served on reception level which is simply unreadable. Not deserve 5 stars.

The El Aurassi Hotel is in the heart of Algiers overlooking the city and the harbor. Rooms on the upper floors provide spectacular views. The hotel is on its own separate hill with a long driveway which is guarded so that no vehicle can get close to the hotel structure. The staff are pleasant and accommodating. There are several high end shops off the lobby including Baccarat, Cartier, etc. A good buffet is provided at breakfast with plenty of fresh fruits included. Hotel security is a top priority as each guest must walk through a metal detector and all luggage and carry-ons are screened. Two of the restaurants are somewhat poor. The DuqDuq may be very picturesque as it is decorated in a very mid-eastern style, yet the food is lacking and small children cry and run about. The buffet restaurant is a bit better but the choices are not extensive. If you must chose between the two, use the buffet.

Room Tip: Rooms on higher floors gain spectacular views of city and harbor
