We have just returned from a horrible experience staying at this hotel. The facade, reception, restaurants, grounds and pool are very impressive. However, the rooms do not match anything like a 5 star rating. They are basic with extremely dated bathrooms, no minibar, 1970's wall mounted hair dryers with only an "on" setting. Not all rooms have good views of pool/gardens, ours looked onto a huge building construction! The air conditioning unit leaked pools of water and despite reporting the fault it took a further two days to repair. The lock on the balcony door was old and difficult to open, so much so that housekeeping left the room unlocked each day! Luckily we were on the first floor, although our booking request was for a top floor room with pool view. This was denied although the hotel was less than one third occupied for the whole of the week.

The bathrooms do not have proper showers with glass screens as shown on their web site. They are on a mixer tap over the bath which is old marked and in the case of ours, dirty when we arrived! The Shower curtain was stained and old. The remainder of the sanitary ware was discoloured, poor quality and in dire need of replacement. Tiles were cracked and grouting, painting in very poor condition.

Have to add that the Bar and waiting staff were extremely helpful and tried hard to please. The same could not be said for the reception and administrative staff who were unhelpful and uncaring. Having been presented with several disappointed travellers during our stay their only offer of help was to ask for an extra 600 diram to "upgrade"!!

This is definitely not 5 star accommodation and was extremely disappointing.

Room Tip: Can't really give a tip as we requested a non smoking, pool view on top floor, all 3 requests we...

On first arriving we waited over an hour for our room not realising that the hotel was half empty. The reception staff were un informative about why we had to wait. Informed we arrived to early as they only check in at 3! Get with the times people check in and out at all different times. We arrived at 9 and no offer of breakfast and now realising that on our departure they were no open for breakfast we actually missed out for what we had paid for. We didn't get the room requested but after being with no sleep for 30 hours just wanted some sleep. We had to pay a security deposit and taxes which we knew nothing about. When we checked out we believed we needed a refund due to the security deposit and taxes paid the stroppy rude arrogant individual then explained that money hadn't been taken from our card on arrival. So really couldn't understand why they needed our card to begin with. All very odd and very unfriendly way to treat customers.

The room was big but could do with an update ie duvets and not woolly bedding! It took 5 days for the plastic table and chairs to be cleaned on the terrace. These definitely could do with an up date. I believe they picked who they gave the pool view rooms to. The staff do lovely smiles but I felt this was at time false.

The pool was nice but the sun beds could do with an update and possibly use some padding would be good. Limited snacks around the pool area and no menus to look at. The food and drink's are pricey. Again not allowed to buy any items to bring into the hotel stopped by security staff. Ridiculous.

Breakfast was ok limited but items were fresh. Lots of staff doing nothing and hanging around. We couldn't believe that the hotel was so empty. Agadir was very empty to. Is this usual??

Some staff were great but others definitely on reception attitudes need some polishing.

Location of hotel is ok. Walk to the beech is a pain and no free transport which should be provided if they wish to be five staff. Sadly this hotel was ok and just ok. There are lots of other hotels along the beech that look and felt five staff were as here is pushing a three.

Would I return no. Would I give any advice to the hotel yes change your reception staff defintely the chap who served us yesterday 10th July at 6am rude and arrogant needs a serious customer care course. If I was treated differently on my departure maybe my review would have been somewhat different but sadly this man made reflect on actually how poor this hotel is. Avoid.

just back from a week long bed and breakfast stay. First impression was excellent-the approach to the hotel, reception area and staff, room were all outstanding. In a 5-star hotel I would have expected some tea/coffee making facilities and bottled water and some half decent toiletries. Housekeeping services were great-if there is a speck of dirt anywhere in this hotel, it is not for want of trying-the cleaning goes on all day long (and that is not a criticism). The waiting staff were cheerful, helpful and attentive. The pool and gardens were tranquil and relaxing. Moroccan themed evening seemed like a good idea but (maybe because it was Ramadan and the hotel was quiet overall) wasn't well attended and was very pricey, as were most things (meals, drinks-all double the price of venues along the promende) but there are plenty of good restaurants around. The snake charmer was a bit of a snake himself-trying to charge 50dhs for a picture to be taken!!
Not sure if something can be done with the doors to the rooms-you cannot use the handle to close them quietly which must cause irritation to all guests!
I would agree with some of the most recent reviews but think with a few tweaks this venue could be outstanding

I only stayed here for one night, and I was fortunate enough to be upgraded to a suite. For such a beautiful looking hotel you would expect facilities, services and standards to match. However, the selection of toiletries available in the substantial ensuite bathroom amounted to 2 small bars of soap; breakfast was a small buffet of limited selection and the staff all seemed rather unhappy.

Some small improvements could make this hotel outstanding but at the moment it is only average.

The maids were incredibly lousy. Dirty trays and plates of leftover food were left out on the floor at all hours of the day.
We came back to our room 4 times to find our balcony doors had been left wide open.
They had also forgotten to replace our towels on one occasion.
To my horror and disgust 4 pairs of my KNICKERS were stolen, as if that isn't bad enough the hotel manager did not seem bothered, we barely even received an apology. He was slow to get back to us and did not even offer to reimburse us for the items that were STOLEN. Disgusting.
We only ordered room service once but they got our order wrong and didn't even return our change.
The food was poor and incredibly over priced.
You are not allowed to bring food or drink into the hotel, even bottles of water were 'forbidden'. Absolutely ridiculous. Again this was not mentioned to us when booking.
There was no atmosphere at the hotel & entertainment what so ever during evenings.
The walls were paper thin so we were constantly awoken by noise of passers by and maids cleaning in the early mornings.
Lastly we were sprung a £200.00 security deposit at point of checking in which was not mentioned previously anywhere!!!

Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The only positives I can mention would be that the reception area was nice, the pool was a good size & room was decent enough.

Stayed at this hotel in March. The lobby is impressive and so is the swimming pool but the rooms need a bit TLC specially the bathrooms. The hotel is well located and it has beautiful gardens. Breakfast is excellent.
