“First time all catering - pleasantly suprised”
Reviewed 9 January 2013

Having had a particualrly grueling year decided we needed a well earned rest and fly to Agadir.
First time all catering - pleasantly suprised & iniailtially thought we'd gone to the wrong place as the entrance surrounded by a number of stores but as we entered it opened out into quite a large complex. Rooms adequate and the devlepment had a lot to offer with large central resturant with a good selction of food in its own right plus a selction of individual resturants - Morrocan, Japanese, Chinese etc; which could be booked in advance. Food was suprisingly good as was the local wines, spirits and larger. A number of pools and entertainments for kids and bigger kids too plus crazy gold, tennis courts and more. New Year Gala was amazing and they went to a lot of trouble. No one went hungry of thirsty that's for sure ^& we saw the New Year in with some bubbly around the pool.
Otherwise the bars would close at 11:00 and it quietened down nicely. It's cusomery to tip waiters and they will keep an eye out for you.
Heard a few grumbles but I have to say it exceeded my expectations as did Agadir.

Room Tip: Choose a room away from the road to the front of Tamlelt if you can. They can get quite a bit of noi...

First impression, awful, but never judge a book by its cover, you are dropped off outside what appears to be a small shopping centre. It was all uphill from there though, reception staff are friendly and quick, dont forget you need to pay a local tax at every Moroccan hotel! Rooms are small and basic and could do with a little updating, no hairdryer and a tiny shower, TV had a couple of English speaking channels which is a bonus. They are cleaned every day There are loads of pools, one of which is heated. The animation staff work hard to involve everyone but are not too pushy if you feel like saying no. Bar staff are great and managed to remember my drinks order after a few days. Food is basic but fresh and plentiful, some is cooked infront of you, no fresher than that. Like I say in all my overseas holidays reviews, you are in a foreign country you will get foreign food. They have a number of themed restaurants, you have to book them a day in advance but are included in the price, the only set back is they are all a set menu! All in all it is good value for money, not the Ritz but not a dump either. Close enough to walk to the seafront restaurants, there are loads of them if you fancy the odd night out

me n 3 other ladies stayed at room i62,november 8th 2012, was a good size room, very clean, maids cleaned the room every day, spotless, although we didnt like the idea of the bathroom window being left open while we were out but we told the maids n they kept it shut after, views from our balcony was amazing! , air conditioning was great, beds a little hard, staff very very friendly, animation team were friendly and entertained us all throughout our stay. pools were lovely, had a sunbed everyday not hard to get hold of,food was good, a choice from more than one resturant -madam butterfly is japanese i liked it,though its not for everyone snack bar was nice and oasis a buffet resturant and some of the food was actually very nice, moroccan was nice and different. lovely weather!!!, beach not far, and very nice. we went all inclusive u pay for what u get. we had a great holiday here, will defanatly be returning! oh and we asked for the gym, we got directed to a gym, but too be honest, not much in there to call it a gym and most of the equitment was broken. but this didnt affect our overal stay.the only down side was when we got there we had to pay some tax which we wernt told about whilst booking the holiday, only came to 16pounds ( whatever this is in dhirems) for all four of us, and we also had to pay a deposit for the pool towels, the phone in out room didnt work too . we had a safe which was good,we didnt have to pay for this, however i heard some people who were staying there did.a great holiday well worth the money, for a 3 star as well. pretty good.

Room Tip: when u get there jus ask for a room with air conditioning as i heard not all the rooms have it

Room: A12 (reception)
Twin room
Thursday 01st November - Thursday 08th November 2012 All - inclusive
Flights booked with Thomsons
Hotel booked via Travel republic

Timezone - same as UK
Flight time - approx 4 hours
Currency - Dirham Exchange rate at time of holiday: 1 pound - 13 dirham
Language - Arabic and French
Average Temperate - 25 degrees

Just returned from a 1 week stay at El Pueblo Tamlelt Hotel, Agadir, a bit of a last minute holiday with my friend after our trip to New York was cancelled, due to Hurricane Sandy.

If I had spent more time reviewing this hotel, I perhaps would not have booked here but having been I can say I think its absolutely on par with what we paid for.

The first thing you should know if that there is no air conditioning in most of the rooms to this hotel, which is paired with The Caribbean Village hotel, making it a big complex, given the fact the temperature was still in the high twenties when we went I would imagine the nights would be unbearable in this hotel, without air con, in the summer months.

We booked through travel republic and were not aware there is a seperate city tax to pay at the hotel, check before you book or if not take a bit extra to pay, we had to pay 230dh for both of us for one week.

As mentioned this is a big complex and there are lots of steps which might not make it suitable for anyone with walking difficulties, there was however wheelchair access as far as I could see to every part of the complex.

For me, an english girl, the food wasnt great. It was very much geared towards the french, a large percentage of guests were french, so this is understandable. The themed restaurants add much needed change to an otherwise repetitive menu for dinner, these are free but must be booked in advance from the reservation building between 9am and 12pm. There is an onsite food vendor, chargable, which serves panninis and crepes which are lovely, and not expensive.

The rooms are basic and the beds are quite hard, as is the solitary pillow, but they are clean albeit I did have a fight with a cochroach (which I won!) which wasnt pleasant but I dont feel I judge the hotel any differently for it.

The entertainment is mediocre but can be incredibly funny due to the participants from the crowd, the entertainment staff work very hard and are extremely friendly, in fact all staff were.

For an all-inclusive I was surprised the have to pay for any additions such as room fan, safe key, fridge or iron. 1.5 litre bottles of water were also available from reception but from 7pm onwards. The bars were seperated into alcoholic and non-alcoholic serving which was annoying if you had people not drinking in your party as I did, but make friends with a barman and he would normally bend the rules!

There was a camel onsite, I think it cost approx 60dh for a 10 minute ride around the complex, and during the day there were typical activities such as ping pong, darts, tennis, volleyball, basketball and mini golf.

Outside the hotel, we took the mini train - from outside the complex just flag it down - it stops approx every hour on the hour and costs 18dh per person for a one hour round trip. Alternatively get off at the marina, about half way into the journey and walk back along the beach front. The beach is nothing the write home about, its water is rough and wavy, the sand is affected by this as it brings in alot of rubbish which the locals do the best to clean up but it looks like a losing battle!

The Souks (pronounced sooks) are big outdoor markets, you'll be pestered like hell but everyone is friendly, and you get to barter or ask for freebies, we made friends with one local lad and sat and drank mint tea with him, we also got henna tattoos which were amazing and all done freehand by the girls.

All in all I loved Morocco for its people, incredibly hardworking and friendly. The hotel was mediocre and I would find it difficult to go back again, certainly not in the summer when temperates can reach as high as 50 degrees and the hotel is rumoured to be fit to burst with people. However, if I ever find myself searching for a last minute deal in November, I would be hard pushed to say no.

Room Tip: For a quieter holiday ask for a room away from the main pool/entertainment area as music is played o...

el paublo tamlet is a great holiday destination there was 13 of us who went, i have been there 2 times now and going back next year, i have just recently got back and had a fab week, it did rain for 2 days but staff were great and kept us all entertained. theres one buffet resturant with lots of various foods to suit anyone, i am a very fussy eater but i managed to cope with the food, its very basic but what do you expect with a 3* hote, theres also themed resturants such as an italian, moroccon etc and you can go to them once in your stay.

staff are very friendly and are willing to help and cater for your needs, ANIMATON TEAM were absolutly amazing, activities during the day such as waterpolo, swiming races, and various little fun games around the pool, you dont have to take part but always good fun. and in the evening they have a amiture show in the little theature and group dances before and after, there is a bar that serves drinks from 10.30am - 12pm and a club that opens about 11.30, wich i never ended up going to.

the pool man was very helpful and because there was 13 of us he reserved our sunbeds everyday wich was very nice.

overal i had a brilliant stay and have recomended it to all my friends and family and hopefully going back end of january.

Room Tip: ask for a pool view if possible lovely views and block I and J are very good

Very average...

price we paid was justified!

all inclusive was like world war 3 for slice of bread or a cup of coffee! no organisation!!

most of the staff ranged from miserable to highly annoying finding someone inbetween was hard work!
.......
the pools were fabulous something for everyone!

there was a relaxing pool no music few children and close to the bar ... was great!

main pool a little irritating but ok more children, families and animation staff you were willing to fall in the pool and drown!!

another pool which was a balance between the two above.
..........

entertainment wise (wasnt for us) agadir song religiously at 12pm and continues throughout the day.. dancing round the pool etc weve all seen it before!

lots of organised activities going on water polo, basket ball, football probably great for children!!

......
beer wasnt great fizzy as hell then flat as a squashed badger withing 3 mins .. ended up drinking outside the hotel... spirits strong and generous portions!

food wise great if you like chicken and chips ...

........

grounds wise - absolutly spotless constantly cleaning, trimming hedges and grass, painting buildings and floors- really well looked after.

rooms - average has what you need a bed shower and toilet! cleaner was great everyday spotless... could probably do witha touch of handy work in certain areas but at the end of the day the rooms are constantly in use! wear and tare will happen!

.....

options of paninis and various other things (not part of the all inclusive) were brilliant for a snack if u didnt want to leave the hotel!! staff behind there were great at times!
....

overall for us it was adequate!! main problem of an evening there was no escape from the entertainment team! we went out of the hotel most nights...

My family & I (Girlfriend & 3 children) have just got back from the El Pueblo Tamlelt, which is a twin resort with the Carribean Village, so there are plenty of facilities to use, Bars, Gymnasium, Hair salon, Spa, Laundrette, etc.

There is also a private roped off section on the nearby beach (5 mins walk), with drinks available, as part of the all inclusive package, baguettes are available (cheese or chicken salad), but you must request them via reception before noon.

There are several restaraunts on site, 2 buffet style, with a fresh cook station & various chillers for fruit, veg, rice etc. Also Japanese, Chinese, Fish, Steak, Pizzaria & Moroccan restaraunts, which you have to reserve between 9am to 12am, the best thing to do is book each restaraunt in one visit to the reservation office, as it can be quite a wait at times.

There are various shops etc on the outside of the two hotels, so it is worthwhile shopping around for good. there is also a bar outside the hotel, which shows live Premier league football, it also does good food, if you want a break from the all inclusive.

The Positives -

We stayed for 14 days there. In all, the hotel is very clean, tidy & well kept, there are around 6 swimming pools, with a few of them have little paddling pools for non swimmers too.

Pool towels are provided (500 Dirahms deposit) & you can change them every other day, after 4pm, at a small kiosk, which rents out kettles, irons, fans etc (as all the rooms do not all have air conditioning!!!) which is the only downside to this hotel, in my opinion, bearing in mind it was always above 30 degrees at night & very hot in the rooms. Air conditioning is seriouly required.

There are a few bars scattered around the pools, so drinks are easily available, with the main bar having an alcohol only\ soft drinks only bar, but at some times the bars do get very busy, with limited staff working. There is a swim up bar, but i did not see this being used at all during my stay.

There are little gift shops scattered around the hotel, selling t-shirts, handbags, lanterns & herbs & spices etc. Also there are market type stalls which setup around the hotel daily.

Free WiFi is also available near reception & around the pool areas.

A shop is also on site for ice creams, sun cream, crisps, chocolate, inflateable lilo's arm bands etc, it is a little on the pricey side though! if you go out of the hotel, TIP - there is a supermarket, which sells everything at a fraction of the price!

The downsides of this hotel -

Getting sunbeds are a nightmare, unless you want to get up at 4.30 in the morning (yes people were putting towels on beds at this time!!!) the hotel has a 1 hour limit on sunbeds being unnoccupied policy, but it is never enforced.

People continue to use the pool after the pool has closed, even at 3am, people can be heard jumping in & out of pools, making a hell of a racket.

Air conditioning is in some rooms, but Russian & French tourists get priority on them, as the Russin travel company installed the air con, apparently, so you have to hire fans (if they have any! as there was a 3 day wait for fans to become available!)

The buffet restaraunts get tremendously busy & quite often they run out of crockery, as the tables are slow to be cleared & re-set for the next occupant.

I would go back to this hotel again, as it was fantastic value, the staff are very friendly & pleasant indeed, the rooms are cleaned daily. All in all it was a fantastic holiday.

Room Tip: Ask for air conditioning !
