Have been here before so it was no surprise that things are still the same ............after 5 yrs ........
We asked for a view ...we got it
We know agadir well........we have family here ...so it was only as a base that we used this hotel .....however .......Hotel Tamlelt appears to have been downgraded somewhat The Caribbean Village Agador appears to have better accommodation.....we stayed in room J71 ......heck of a trek up the stairs......but worth it for the view ...lovely terrace sitting room , bedroom and bathroom ......not as clean as I would have liked but HEY HOOOO THIS IS AFRICA !!
Entertainment is fantastic ..the Amphitheatre is great for all of the shows ................preferred it to have been at 9pm instead of 10pm though, the animation team are fantastic ................. lack of english persons may be a problem to some ,we did not find that the case ..the morocains love to speak english and are welcoming ..will go back as is central to what we know ...will reccommend local restaurants exp . le Jardin

Room Tip: if you can cope with the stairs J71 is great for views over the complex and The Casbah

Well I read the reviews just before I left and have to say was not looking forward to it, people made it sound like a dirty free for all carnival... don't listen to them. I went there with my daughter and had a really great time, there is loads to do and see, so much so we did not have enough time to do it all. weather was great, loads of pools and loads of sunbeds. staff was polite and helpful. animation team was great and tried to include all ages into activities. went mainly to the themed restaurant they were nice apart from the pizzeria that was really disgusting.. main restaurant was good loads of food to choose from, I found it easier to go later rather than when it first opened waiters were helpful and pleasant.. our room was situated on top floor it was a bit of a trek up but room was clean and pleasant only gripe is the bed and pillow was rock hard felt like sleeping on floor.

Room Tip: unless really fit ask for one that is not on top floor as its 6 flights of stairs.

When I booked this holiday I looked on here for the comments, they were good, then after booking and in the 6 weeks holiday I looked again and I panicked as the comments were awful!
I thought to myself its booked and paid for so there's nothing I can do about it.

We had a weeks stay at the hotel and what can I say it was cleaned every day by a lovely maid, the people were friendly, and the animation team were fantastic always something to do.

The bar staff were great and the waiters and the pool men were great too, we did however have to get up early so that we got sunbeds by the pool, but that was no hardship.

The food was slightly repetitive but going all inclusive you would expect that, the restaurants on sight were good but you do have to book the night before.

The beach was a 10 to 15 minute walk away and each hotel has its own section, with sunbeds and brollies if you need them.

We had an exceptional service but this was due to the tips that we gave the waiters, we had our drinks brought to us in the evenings and during the day by the pool, so if you are thinking of staying in this hotel give a tip and you wont have to queue for your drinks.

Amazing holiday enjoyed every moment of it, so much so that we are hoping to go back next year.

We went on a girls holiday and first night we had a warm welcome from reception was given water and told when to come back for some more twice a day. Room was a bit outdated but considering you are there for sun and not to stay in the room it was good enough to sleep and had English tv if we wanted to watch it. Entertainment was brilliant staff were really nice and they all got us up to dance and enjoy the disco. Agadir is lovely I would recommend the marina for a nice walk as well as the bars and street activities but these was mainly for children. Recommend the buggy and camel rides had excellent pick ups from the hotel and the staff were all really helpful. The food was hit and miss but always managed to find something to eat that we liked. The Moroccan themed restaurant was the best and they were so accommodating. Defiantly would return !!!!!

Trip was 5th to 12th September. My partner and I are in our 40's. Here's our factual review of our stay:

Good/very good:

Beautiful well kept gardens
The adjoining hotel, Caribbean Village reception bar, is in a lovely art deco style, comfortable and well staffed
The maids, grounds staff and some of the waiters/bar staff are friendly on the whole. The animation staff are generally enthusiastic. You can see they work incredibly long hours and try their best.
We had a choice of sunbeds everyday
Good choice of pools
The resident camel 'Chocolate' is beautiful, friendly and very well looked after. His owner is very friendly and encourages photos and rides
Despite my comments of the room below, the maid did her best to keep everything spotless

Fair:

Entertainment everyday if you wanted it, although not our thing it was good for families with children. The evening entertainment was very much the same each night. A bit 'butlins esque'

Poor/Unacceptable:

Room: We were near reception on the 1st floor. Very dated, signs of damp in the corners. The shower was poorly grouted and black plaster and showed through. The shower fitment was loose and had no adjustment. The sink was cracked. Lime scale was on shower and sink taps. The heater thermostat was exposed. Lights could be intermittent and often flickered. Two single beds pushed together. Rock hard mattresses. Balcony was wooden and in need of repair/paint. Although not the maid's fault, you had to wait until late in the day for towels to arrive back from the laundry.

Staff attitude: Not ALL, but the minority spoilt it for those that were genuinely friendly and helpful. Reception was hit and miss. Oasis bar and restaurant had two arrogant and rude staff in particular

Safely/cleanliness: Cracks in pavements and steps around most pools and communal areas. Cracked tiles. Tatty worn out sunbeds. Yesterday's food between sunbeds on two occasions. Peeling paint. Loads of steps which would be your worst nightmare if you have limited mobility or children in buggies.

Food/Restaurants: The food was mostly overcooked, bar one occasion in a themed restaurant. Mainly bland with limited choice of meats and/or fish. Chipped cups and occasionally dirty plates. Poorly organised. Dirty tables. Tips expected for bad service - e.g. bringing you a knife and fork when one wasn't available

Oasis Bar: free for all, no organisation. Left waiting for up to 15 minutes unless you 'tip' then you are favoured all night, but have to continue tipping.

Water rations: Yes, really!!!!! Start of holiday was 1 x little bottle each per day, towards the end we were told to share one bottle per day.

Our advice: Read others reviews, do some research, pay extra and stay elsewhere.

Room Tip: Be fussy: Check your rights. Ask for a room away from reception and not facing the main road.

we stayed at this hotel from 17th august for 2 weeks as a family of 4 but also travelled with another 2 family members.

transfers: We paid for a transfer from the airport to the hotel and also booked a return trip also. Although we paid probably double than a local taxi, i cannot fault the service provided. They were at the airport waiting for us and on return we were collected about half an hour early which is bonus as there was no queues at the luggage check in. When you come out of the airport though please do take note of the 'baggage porters' as they took the trolley off of my daughter who is only 9 and promptly walked away with it.

Room: we paid for a family room as my children are 12 and 9. On booking in we were told that they had no family rooms and we was given 2 rooms. We explained that my children were not old enough to stay in a room on their own and we were not prepared to be all split up as a family. They told us to come back the next day at 10.00. The 2 rooms were very run down and 1 of them above a kitchen which made the room exceptionally hot and couldn't open the door unless you wanted the smell of chinese food in the room. We attended the reception the next day for them to say come back at 12.00, eventually at 12 they gave us a new family room key which was located on the main road. This room was still not clean and at 2 pm we found the maid to be in the room cleaning. So we transfered all the luggage up and down many stairs to the other side of the hotel to find it was still not completed and had to take the luggage back again!!! first day of relaxing was a complete write off. When we finally got in our room it was ok but clearly very dated and in need of refurbishment. The wooden section on the balcony was very wobberly and being on the 1st floor i was pleased not to have very young children as they could of gone over it.

Cleanliness: If your only staying for 1 week you probably won't notice a problem with the cleaning. it's when you get into the second week you notice that the maid is not sweeping the room or mopping it. This caused us to have an out break of ants out of the marble skirting board in the room. As there was a whole we had to tape it up so they could not get in the room. The main pool area was not throughly cleaned everyday. they sweeped between the sunbed but did move move them or hose the area down. This caused wasps to fly constantly around you through the day due to old split drinks. The maid in the toilets did try her best to keep the toilets clean but the floor was contiunously wet due to all the people going in their after getting out of the pool.

pool:There are 5 pools at the hotel, we went to the main pool everyday as the children had made friends there, but if you want to get a sunbed there you had toget up by 5.30 to get one, which after paying for a relaxing break you defiantely won't get this. The pool is ery clean though, but there are large steps in the pool so ensure your child doesn't get out of their depth too quick. There is a lifeguard there most days.

Food: The food is very repetitive in the 2 main resturants. We always sat at the same table and had the same waiter every night. His name was commis and i couldn't speak highly enough of him. Anything we wanted he got it for us. We gave him 20 dirham every night but he truely deserved this( this is the only tip we gave) The snack bar is ok but it is a very slow process. Try to get there for when it opens at 1pm and it shouldn't take so long. We didn't go to the themed resturants.

Staff and other guests: The staff on a whole we found mostly to be very pleasant, there was the odd exception of 1 or 2 bar staff but you can really see why they get the hump. They are serving hundreds of people everyday and sometimes up to 15 people at the bar at once. There is no queuing system at the alcohol bar which causes the friction of the guests not being served. My family never had a problem with being served and we did not tip either. There are only 2 bar staff at any 1 time and when they work many many hours and only take home £250 per month in wages you can understand why they can get rude as they are probably exhusted and it doesn't help when the guests are rude to them either by shouting at them. There was 2 very pleasant glass collecters at night (which i don't know their names) they were really helpful. They would get a glass of ice every night which was used for medication for us (as their is no fridge in the room) and even top up our drinks for us. The main problem we had was with other guests especially some french people. I never met such rude people. On the day we was coming home a french boy held a knife to a group of british children as he wanted to play on the pool table. Thankfully the boy walked away when the security was called.

agadir: Their are plenty of shops in agadir including a pizza hut, macdonalds and even a little zoo which was free. The area was ramed packed everyday with moroccan people enjoying their holidays. The children were on their 10 week holidays and they all decend to agadir. This caused traffic in the area and mounds of rubbish on the beach, but there was people there cleaning it every week. We didn't go to the souk as we were informed that a lady had her handbag strap cut and they stole her bag.

In general we had a pleasant holiday, but we would not go back to this hotel or recommend this to others. If you do decide to go you children ensure you know where they are at all times and even escort them to the back of the hotel. When we was staying there a moroccan man tried to abduct an 11 year old boy from the gate next to the childrens club. There is no security on these gates and anyone can walk in. Lucklily this boy had been taught some self defence and managed to get away. When this reported to the hotel they did not contact the police.

I could add more but other reviewers have added many other points which are accurate to some extent at the hotel

Room Tip: it's pot luck what you get, if you don;t like the room ask to change
