“Great Hotel and Staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 March 2014

Just back from a week at the Kenzi. Not been to Morocco and feel we got a really nice hotel.
Cannot fault any staff all were very welcoming. This is a good place for a family, with fun for kids and parents. Food was very nice- always plenty and cooked fresh with choices for everyone. Location is across road from beach and lovely promenade. Weather was cold at night but warmer in the daytime.
I came here for a relaxing break with hubby and that is what we got. Money took a bit to get use to as you feel that your parting with lots of notes. Price of drinks out of the hotel I found to be very expensive so we did not venture out that much. eg. Price of pint Heineken approx. £4.50 & Glass of wine £5 - which is a lot more than what we pay in the north - maybe more like London prices. I think the further out you go the prices got cheaper but then so did the quality. That goes for the food aswell.
The Hotel itself is very much French oriented. The signs for the entertainment and announcements over the tanoys were all in French. The enterntainment was mostly French, apart from the visual entertainment. Kids songs were all French. This is something that we mentioned to the Thomson Rep - but he was quite dismissive saying it was an international hotel. I would say when we stopped 10% of guests were English, the rest were French or German. I am not saying this spoilt the holiday, but its better you no these things before you go. Thomson website does not mention this so I am.
We will go back but try a different hotel because we don't like to stop at the same places. The staff work very hard here and we didn't have a problem giving tips as they have very little wages for what they do. I have to mention YOUSEF - the manager of the restaurant whose attentiveness and welcoming manner made him a credit to the hotel. Also the animation team - HAMZA, RACHID, POCA, MADGA,SALIM were all excellent at their jobs and very friendly and courteous. The bar staff were very good no Hassel getting service all spoke E very good English
It is the staff that make this hotel a very high standard of customer care, standards and professionalism, which is something I have not seen in a lot of other hotels I have stayed in over the years.

Room Tip: We asked for a room with a better view as the one we first got wasn't that special. Got a lovely...

Location:
Perfect. It's in the centre of Agadir. Just across the road from the beach. Plenty of bars/resteraunts/night clubs near by.

Hotel:
Reception area is classy.
The rooms are very nice & spacious.
The entertainment was not too my liking but others seemed to enjoy it.
we only ever ate breakfast at the hotel which i can say was good.
There is a spa in the hotel but we didn't use it.

Overall this hotel was great. no complaints from me.
The staff are very friendly & always there to help.

Ok to start I booked this using airmiles so have no idea of cost and how it compares to others in the location. I was holidaying with my young family (almost two) so needed all inlusive a pool and an easy location, this is what I got :-)

Ok turned up about 12 noon to be told the room wasnt quite ready, but feel free to use the bar and buffet. A quick drink and lunch and the room was ready. Good size a TV Massive bed shower / bath and very clean. We requested a cot that never made it to the room , i suspect a communication issue as we got more bedding. TBH it wasnt a problem as the bed was big enough and he just slept with us.

One comment was a lack of information in the room about the facilitys, but again no biggie as we fiquerd it out. Ok important stuff first , the free bar .... wine was drinkable, couple of coktails were ok and the beer in bottles (local) but again good. The food was good as well , breakfast more than enough with eggs pancakes bread etc coffee and the tea guy on the floor (he was awesome). Lunch buffet and dinner more of the same with differnt hot food. Again plenty, good fish chicken , beef .. salad all good ... bit the samey by the end of the week but not complainng. Pool was clean and you can get towels (with deposit), kids pool was excellent.
The evening entertainment was good with a kids disco and then something for the adults, I have seen a lot worse and have never bothered with it before but did here. Now the staff...... as i mentioned I have a (almost) 2 year old, the staff were all over him and he loved it :-) . the bar staff kept stealing him away and given him fresh juice, the kids entertainers and dor staff were all the same most brilliant. Its nice to see as in the UK I think people are to scared with other peoples kids.

Small free zoo thing next door , sea front 3 mins away taxis outside plenty to see.

A friend who travelled with us didnt enjoy the entertainment or the beer, but he is a bit of a grump ;-).

Room Tip: Could hear the lifts in the morning as people started going to breakfast so try and get a room futhe...

Had a relaxing and good time there. Meals were tasty, room was clean. Wi-fi did not operate in the room, alas.... Animation team was very good and trainees (Rachid and his smiling colleague) were so enthusiastic ! Greetings from Violetta

Just back from a 4 night stay in Kenzi, and we loved it. We were booked in last year but it was cancelled as they closed for renovation, we were disappointed at the time but, it was well worth it. The hotel is impecible, rooms really big and well decorated, the bed was huge, and although there was no cot in the room as requested it wasn't neccessary the bed was big and comfortable enough for our toddler too.

The pool area is immaculate, and the childrens pool is fab, our little one is too young for the Miniclub but spent all her time in the pool playing on the little slides. Have to mention Abdelaziz from the bar who looked after us really well providing pool waiter service, always a smile and nothing was too much trouble. There isn't enough sunbeds availabl because unfortunately the usual suspects reserve them at the crack of dawn, so perhaps the hotel should implement a policy around this, there was 1 family who had 3 young children and reserved 5 beds every day but the children never used them as they were in the miniclub, pool or sat together on 1 bed.

The staff are really helpful, and friendly, special mention to Hamza and Rachid from animation team, they never passed us without stopping for a chat and a laugh, also had loads of time for our daughter.

We will definitely be back to the Kenzi, although perhaps next time will book all inclusive.

We had a wonderfull time here, no remarks, clean rooms, friendly personnel and a special applause for the animation team who organized every evening amusement for the young and old ...the food and servings in the restaurant were good, there was enough variation in the offered food, every morning there was fresh pressed orange juice and traditional morocan the de menthe, friendly helpfull reception and clean nice swimmingpool , we certainly come back !!
