Apparently large roaches are considered house pets here. If you booked an apartment or a studio with the kitchen, do not get the first floor or bring some insecticide. Also avoid rooms overlooking the street: loud music plays till 3 am!
The original idea of this hotel, when it was built back in the 90s, was great: comfortable rooms and apartments, with private patios and balconies. However, the maintenance of the hotel was substandard, and it was never remodeled or repaired: everything in the hotel and in the rooms looks old and worn out. On the positive side, the hotel is inexpensive, and has a great location close to the beach and entertainment.

I stayed here for a week in July 2014.
A very spacious hotel, that sprawls out, when I read there where steps, i though yep no problem. from my room to reception there were 80!, I stayed half board, the breakfast was limited and not as advertised, the same food everyday, pancakes, bread, coffee and salad.
The evening meals were much the same, it was like a bun fight to get food, the waiters were often rude. The food was sub standard and after a few nights I just ate out. The hotel its self, is large, the bar was ok, the pool area limited on sunbeds and poor maintenance. There was no entertainment on at all, which left evenings dull in hotel. They advertise a lot but delivery very little, The rooms were adequate but I was on the front with a large roundabout with heavy traffic most of the night.

The reception staff very helpful, the place is clean and tidy. The really good think is the location, 10 min to the beach, 10 mins to old town and close to souks and supermarket. Oh and wi fi was very intermittent in the lobby, no where else.

Room Tip: dont stay near the pool or at the front near the roundabout

Stayed in the Tagadirt in July 2014 in an apartment on a Bed and Breakfast basis. The apartment had seen better days but was large & clean and included two bedrooms with a kitchen diner, toilet and bathroom. The towels etc were changed on a daily basis. All the staff were friendly and informative. Breakfast was freshly made omelettes or pancakes with shredded cabbage and tomatoes, bread and coffee or tea, we always found something to eat and a snack at lunch and Dinner out of the hotel the Nil Blue was our favourite with good prices and service and great food I would highly recommend it. The hotel is built on a hill which could cause anyone less abled a problem with some rooms having quite a few steps up to them. Local tax was 81 dirhams per person
The pool was large enough for the number of guests staying and a separate pool for children.
First night we had a Flag pilsner in the english bar was charged 60 Dirhams 25 in the hotel.
Enjoyed all the trips booked through khadija especially the ones which included food cooked by the berber villages and all good value.
Leather goods bought in the resort are great and some great bargains can be had after bartering

Room Tip: High roomed apartment

I stay at this hotel for 2 months in winter, jan & feb with no problems, best deal is b&b to many people complaining about this hotel I have travelled the world for years so I now you get what you pay for. don't expect 5* for 2* prices !!! almost all hotels in morocco charge tourist tax which depends on their rating so the amount can vary. check with your travel agent before leaving to see if is included in the cost.

Just had 2 weeks at Tagadirt with family, 1 x 2 bed apartment and 1 x 1 bed apartment. Both were large and although had been better days were cleaned everyday, bed comfortable and the kitchen facilities were adequate for what we wanted. Staff in hotel are great, very friendly and always willing to help. We only ate in the snack bar where the food was good and reasonably priced. 5 minute walk up the road will take you to the tarafout bakery, went there every morning for bread for breakfast 1.20 MAD for a baguette :) there's a wee supermarket next door for cheese/meats etc.
The bar prices are cheaper than most restaurants and much cheaper that the English Bar behind the hotel, 17 MAD for a glass of wine and 25 MAD for a bottle of beer ( 20 if you use the snack bar at the pool). The majority of guests seem to be Russian, French and Moroccan but everyone is friendly and we had a great stay. Ask for a room/apartment in the 5000 block, far enough away from the English bar and the other hotels to be nice and quiet. WIFI only in reception area by the way but it's free and works well.

Room Tip: ask for room in 5000 block, far enough away from Bars and other hotels to be quiet but not too many...

i spent a week in the Tagadirt hotel with my son, we had a great experience. its immaculately clean and the staff are so accommodating and helpful (massive thanks to Shaveck and Abdula). if you looking to book transfers or excursions then Khadija is the woman (cotedazuretravel@hotmail.fr.) The food wasn't great and we only ate in the hotel once, food aside 10/10 from us!!!! Cant wait to go back.

Hotel stay from Thursday 29 may 2014 to Thursday 12 June 2014. Upon arrival the reception staff (male) was polite and friendly. Check in was quick and efficient. The hotel charged 165 moroccan dirhams city tax for my 14 night stay. The room I was allocated was clean and big. The bathroom was also clean. It had a bath tub with a shower. The room did not have a tv. The currency exchange place across the road from the hotel does a better currency exchange rate than the airport. There was wi-fi access in reception only, no wi-fi access in the rooms. Breakfast is orange juice, croissants, bread rolls. Location wise the hotel is excellently placed within walking distance to the beach/ sea and is also near the valley of the birds which is free entry. The hotel is also near many restaurants. The manager shaffique was very helpful - any questions or concerns I would definitely advise you ask shaffique who is more than happy to help!!!!
Sightseeing wise it is definitely worth taking a taxi up to the kasbah which is about a 15 minute taxi ride which costs 30 moroccan dirhams one way in a petit taxi.
It's also worth visiting the Valley of the Birds which is free entry.
The petit train which takes you on a 35 minute tour around agadir is definitely worth going on.
You can also book trips through the lady who visits the hotel and organises the excursions (her name is khadija). I found the small Sahara trip, hammam and massage, immouzer waterfall to be the best excursions. Tip: always barter on the first price given.
Also when you visit the souk make sure you barter. When you are given a price half and half it again and start from there. The souk always inflate the prices four times as much.
