We stayed at the Iberostar at the end of last week visiting friends in Marocco. We stayed for 3 nights and were in a superior room - well worth the upgrade price of around £20 more per night. Our room was 3040 and was right next to the pool, at the end of one of the blocks, on the ground floor, making it easy to get to and from. The stay was really good, the all inclusive option was good value for money and was generous, food was very good with 2 restaurants and a pool bar also serving food. Local beer and wine was drinkable (not always my experience in all inclusive resorts!) and the staff were really friendly and helpful. There were 2 or 3 big pools, and lots of loungers, meaning that although there were lots of people staying at the hotel, it didn't feel crowded. We would definitely return - really lovely break.

Room Tip: Ground floor superior rooms are definitely worth the upgrade price.

We stayed here in February. The hotel is very clean and the staff are generally kind and helpful, particularly the domestic and garden workers.
The dining room and bar staff were less friendly, perhaps because they were so busy as well as disorganised.
Our big grumble would be that children seemed to be allowed to run wild, especially in the dining room, which made it very dangerous to walk around the buffet with hot food.
The management did not appear to think this was a problem when we mentioned it.
The taxi drivers waiting outside the hotel were not very honest about prices and distances.

Room Tip: We were on the ground floor with a terrace, and could walk round to the pool and the beach.

Dear Guest,

Firstly we would like to thank you for taking the time to share your personal impressions on your recent stay at our IBEROSTAR Founty Beach hotel. It is only through feedback such as yours that we are able to maintain and indeed, where necessary, improve upon the service that we provide to our valued guests.

We took good note of your comment related to the presence of children in our restaurant and lament your disappointment, however we would like to point out that our Maître is present throughout the service to ensure that everything in the dining room runs smoothly,
nevertheless the attitude of children is the responsibility of their parents, exclusively; our waiting staff is well trained to ensure that all guests are fully enjoying their meals, however, depending on our occupancy, they may have less time to have a chat with our guests, we regret your disappointment on this aspect of your stay.

Moreover, we are sorry you were left with a negative impression due to the taxi drivers outside the hotel; however, not being IBEROSTAR employees, unfortunately there is very little we can do on this aspect.

On the other hand we thank you for your highlight on the genuine kindness and helpfulness of our housekeeping staff and will not fail to congratulate them on your behalf for their contribution to your wellbeing whilst staying among us.

Thank you again for your visit and the courtesy of your time; we encourage you for future occasions to contact our call center from where we can offer you a personalized booking guidance and help you select the destination and hotel type, bearing in mind that we have a selection of Adults only hotels in many destinations, for you to fully enjoy your holidays with IBEROSTAR.

Sincere Regards,

We just got back last night from Agadir. My husband and I stayed at Iberostar Founty Beach hotel.
Staff were very helpful, great spacious rooms, good food, great pool although we were expected heated pool and unfortunately it wasn't.
We have had room with partial sea view -not bad, although I would prefer room with swimming pool view but they are at extra cost.
Great beach right in front of the hotel-this is the widest beach we have seen.
We enjoyed our holiday and facilities around hotel.
Hotel location -it is bit far from Agadir centre so if you are looking for lively area this hotel is not for you unless you like about 40 minutes walk on promenade to centre of the town. We have booked excursions so haven't been bored. This hotel I would recommend for quite, beach holiday.

We spent 1 week in Iberostar (Easter time), 3 adults and 3 children aged 11, 8 and 4.The weather was great, not too hot however, be careful as if there is cloud (quite common in the mornings) the UV is still there and you can easily get a sunburn!
The complex is amazing, just on the beach, you feel safe all the time due to presence of security guards. The beach- with very comfortable sunbeds, very wide and perfect for long walks/sunbathing.
The hotel- can't say any bad word at all, very clean, spacious rooms with lovely balcony area, comfy beds.
The food- very tasty, can't really say repetitive as there was always something nice to choose from (pool restaurant and main restaurant), did not try pre-booked as it was not necessary.
The pools- quite deep especially the heated one which was around 180cm, no problem with sunbeds at all, you could find one even just before midday if you wanted to sleep longer in the morning. Nice, relaxing and welcoming atmosphere, "well behaving guests" was a real plus.
The staff- this is the main thing that I would like to comment on. Absolutely AMAZING!!!
Thank you to all from the reception area, restaurant/bar staff, cleaners, gardeners, security guards, pool/beach staff and animation/kids club team and of course the Director.
You made us feel so comfortable and you are all extremely friendly and professional!!!
I would definitely recommend and will be coming back in the future.

Room Tip: We were in rooms 1130 and 1132, nice rooms with side sea view. Very nice!

Generally very good. Coffee at breakfast poor but buffet had wide choice. Gazpacho excellent. Lovely pools and private beach. Internet a bit slow. With 470 rooms it is a bit big. Plenty to do if you wish.

We arrived here for 10 nights at the end of April and was immediately greeted with a cocktail and luggage porter, check in was quick and easy. We booked all inclusive in a double full sea view room which are at the far end of the hotel's reception, bars and entertainment so it's nice and quiet later on in the evenings. Very big room and was as advertised in the professional photos, the view was absolutely stunning and the air conditioning was adjustable and quiet enough. Please note that even though it was a 'Double' room that was booked, it is in fact just two single beds pushed together which takes a night or two getting used to, they should probably spend some of their budget on double mattresses and sheets as the bed frame and bed tables in the room weren't designed for anything else.

The food was amazing with more than enough selection. There's plenty of things done fresh on request that change each meal whilst the more common dishes remained throughout. If you are planning to visit here make sure you try the meatballs, they're coated in local herbs and are absolutely delicious! Drinks on the all inclusive menu are generous with no limit on how many per person if you don't like to keep visiting the bar or wait on the waiting staff to attend to you. There's plenty of selection for drinks and all inclusive guests can purchase international brands at 50% off so it's not too expensive if you want something you're more used to every now and then.

Since there were only a handful of English guests the staff went well out of their way to make sure we felt welcome. One of the entertainment team (sadly can't remember his name!) quickly befriended us and helped us with local prices at the Souk compared to the Marjane and made sure on my girlfriend's birthday after their Horror themed night she was brought on stage, delivered a cake and sang Happy Birthday to in a dozen languages, all in good fun. There was also a barperson (again, can't remember his name, perhaps Abdoul? Jet black hair and works most evenings in the Piano bar) who made sure our cocktails were served with a blend of fruit (and roses for the girlfriend) each and every time. Upon arrival we realised our fridge wasn't working and within two minutes of informing reception one of the maintenance workers went running out to fix it. From the always smiling maids who shape your towels like love hearts, the waiters who won't see you without a drink or a clean table, the entertainment staff who make sure you're aware of the programs and the bar staff who ensure your cocktails are picture happy it's clear the management hire well as the majority of staff go out of their way for you when at times they don't really need to, the little things like remembering how you like things and the language they greet you in all adds to the experience.

The hotel was coated in lovely décor and well groomed. You see staff around the complex cleaning, painting and gardening often enough to know cleanliness is important at this hotel. The corridors are spacious and are separated by blocks, all of which have lovely gardens on the ground floor. Pool area is clean and well maintained as is the outdoor snack bar. WiFi is only available in the reception and piano bar area and can slow down during peak times but was stable enough to brag to our friends and family on Facebook and browse the web for excursion reviews.

Unfortunately we didn't find too much time to try the sports facilities, indoor pool or hotel spa, but they are in prime locations and easily accessible with signs around the complex making them easy to find on your first day.

There were plenty of stalls and reps in the reception area, we booked mostly through Thomas Cook who were very helpful when we wished to do a boat trip with English speaking guides as they quickly arranged for another rep who doesn't regular the Iberostar to come and sort that out for us which turned out to be a great day. Stalls sell things such as spices and perfumes, car rentals, leather goods and jewellery, we managed to pick up a gorgeous painting from a local artist for only 250 Dirhams. These stalls aren't like those at the Souk or on the Promenade as they choose not to, or aren't permitted to pester guests for sales allowing you to browse freely if you're looking for hassle-free souvenirs.

The hotel's back gate leads onto the promenade and has a private beach which even on the hotter days didn't get too crowded, I can imagine it being a rather different story in the peak of the summer though. There are security preventing any of the locals approaching you whilst on the beach to sell you their goods, but for anyone visiting who is worried about being pestered for sales, a simple 'No thankyou' or 'La choukran' is enough, the Moroccans are very friendly people. Don't let this put you off visiting the Souk, however, if you have the intent to buy something you can find some amazing bargains. Let your guard down for an hour and reap the rewards when you're fine dining at home with local spices in your fine leather shoes.

Be aware that upon arrival you will have to pay to rent your room's safe, for 10 nights it only cost us £23 with an £8 deposit on top, but it perhaps should be advertised on their website a bit better or have an option to pay for this in the overall price so you're aware. For those who book all inclusive, taxis and excursions in advance and go on a tight budget, make sure you accommodate for this and beach towel rental if you don't take your own (we did so not sure on the price of this).

If there was one area I'd like to see improved it would be the queuing system, which seems to be non-existent. Since there's a lot of French who go on holiday there of which 90% of them are rather ignorant and completely oblivious to queues you may find yourself telling them to get in the line you've been stood in for 5 minutes. Staff should make this clearer to save the hassle of trying to translate to these people there's a queue.

All in all we were very satisfied with everything the hotel had to offer, it's location and all the little things that added to this great holiday. I think you'll only find something to complain about if you spend time searching for something to complain about. I know for sure if we ever do fancy returning to Agadir the first thing we'll do is phone Iberostar to make a booking, I hope one day we can go back if not just to thank the certain member of the Star Friends who helped organise my girlfriends birthday, such a shame we're rubbish with names!

Thanks for a great holiday Iberostar!

Room Tip: Full sea view rooms are quiet late on away from bars and entertainment and have a great view!

Booked this hotel on recommendations on trip advisor but was really disappointed. Firstly, hotel extremely busy with lots of families on holiday so not good for a quite time. Next, managed to get sea view room after paying extra but room was dirty and not well maintained. Had to ask several times to get things fixed which is annoying and a waste of good holiday time. Food bland and a bit of a scum at meal times in the restaurant buffet. Also not very clean floors. Another restaurant available but you can only book once per stay.Reception area dirty, certainly no one cleaning regularly. Our MAIN problem was that after specifically checking with our travel agent that this hotel had individual controlled air conditioning, we found on first night that this was not turned on until June!!! This made eating in the restaurant uncomfortable and sleeping in the bedroom impossible as it was too hot and stuffy. After travelling extensively and staying in range oh hotels, would consider this to be 3 star rating only and not 4 star as advertised.

Room Tip: Go for a full sea view if available as these are bit quieter.

Dear Guest,

First and foremost we would like to thank you for choosing our IBEROSTAR Founty Beach hotel for your holidays in Morocco and for sharing a review on your short experience among us. It does indeed sound from what you described, that some aspects of your stay did not meet our standard of excellence. We apologize if our service was inconsistent and appreciate you taking the time to bring this matter to our attention.

For IBEROSTAR thorough cleaning is an absolute must and we have protocols and procedures to guarantee satisfying results regarding hygiene and cleanliness; our housekeeping staff is on duty from 6.00 am to 12.00 am in order to ensure that everything is spotless at all times. For future occasions we strongly encourage you to contact our reception in case you find any shortage being to us of prime importance to offer total confidence in this area and we will be enchanted to adjust any situation which is not in accordance with our established standards.

Moreover we lament reading that apparently you were not properly informed by your travel agent about the air conditioning system; as you can check both on our website and brochure we do not advertise individual controlled air conditioning, it is centralized and on whenever the weather starts to get hotter; As soon as you reported this to our reception, a pedestal fan has been delivered to your room and at the same time you asked for a solution for the heat, many guests were still asking for extra blankets for the night.

At IBEROSTAR we have a true passion for gastronomy and are fully aware that meals are an aspect of primary importance for our guests to enjoy their holidays abroad, this is why our expert team of chefs strives to surprise our guests with high quality culinary delights both local and international, so as be able to savor many different flavors at every single meal and make it one of the best added values to their holiday among us; we lament reading that the unique dining experience you had among us was not able to meet your expectations.

Thank you again for your visit and the courtesy of your time; hopefully we can fulfill your expectations in the near future, and remain at your entire disposal for any request you might have regarding coming vacations. It is our goal to make our guests enjoy of a splendid holiday, therefore we are always willing to guide you in our call center or through our webpage to make sure that you book an IBEROSTAR hotel that can make all your wishes come true.
