The Rui chain spoils its customers who come to expect a pretty high standard for their money. I got the feeling that this hotel is one of the older ones and it is getting just a smidge complacent. replenishment at meals takes a few minutes - the duck ran out (not literally) at 7.45 and I got served a bone! One day at breakfast it took several requests, finally to the maitre d' to get the banana juice an hour into service. I would say that catering was 95% sharp.
I was not troubled by noise - room at the side of the hotel. The bedroom itself was only slightly larger than the bathroom which was HUGE, with a separate loo and bidet. All kept spotless.
The pool is fine and clean and the loungers are okay if a bit old style. I was never aggressive enough to get one of the mattress beds which got towelled up at about 11pm.
I went the second week in June and the weather was just perfect. Warm but not burning - apart from about 4-5pm when the sun started to bite, so plan a late slosh about with sun cream. I did very little - only went for one potter around locally and the shops were unexciting, plus one foray to the local souk which was much more open spaced than the one in Marrakech and more local oriented.
Agadir tourism has suffered in the world recession - there are a lot of shell hotel buildings. But the airport is small and easy to use.
Wifi was good in the hotel lobby. no probs

Room Tip: Make sure at check in you are not at the landward front of the hotel which is where the disco noise...

We stayed all inclusive for one week in June. It is in a great location right on the beach and in walking distance to local bars/restaurants/cafes etc. and you can also walk down the marina area which is nice either on the promenade or you can walk along the beach to there too. Although you get asked a couple of times if you want a drink in their bar or if you want to buy whatever it is they may be selling you don't get pestered and if you just say no thank you politely they will leave you alone - until they ask you again the next day! But it was fine and we felt very safe being out and about around the town.
The rooms are huge and very well equipped. We had one of the rooms near to the disco and the noise was not that bad, yes you could hear the music however we could hear more noise coming from people sat drinking in reception. We stayed in the room all week - much to the surprise of the rep and the reception staff and both offered to move us even though we hadn't complained - and once the noise from reception had died down, which was normally about midnight (and only disturbed us the one night we wanted an early night before a trip), then we were able to get a good night’s sleep.
The food in the buffet restaurants was of a good quality, the best I have had in any all-inclusive hotel. It was all fresh and hot and there was a good variety of different foods each meal time.
We stayed for a few of the evening’s entertainment, the circus night which was very good and also caught a bit of the magic show (which was the same guy from the circus!)
The waiters and staff in general were all helpful and friendly. and were very quick to top up empty glasses which is unusual for all inclusive but was very welcome!
We went on the trip with Thompsons to Marrakech which was a good day and the guide was well informed and friendly, it was a shame that we were not able to stay a little later as the square would have been good to see at night and was just coming to life as we left. Also the two meals were very close to each other which was a shame as the food was of good quality but most people ended up leaving the evening meal as it was only about 3 hours since we had been given a 3 course meal. The people in Marrakech were friendly too and we didn't get pestered too much.
I'm not sure if I would go back to this hotel, although I enjoyed it and didn't really have any complaints, but clearly both the travel operator that we booked with and the hotel didn't think that the room we were given were of an acceptable standard as both offered to move us after a few days without any prompts from ourselves and were both shocked when we refused (we couldn't be bothered packing all our stuff up again and then unpacking it in a different room) if they don't think the rooms are good enough then they shouldn't put people in them in the first place, or if they are going to they should be informed when they booked that there may be disturbances

My wife and I have just returned from an 11 night stay and can only endorse the positive comments on here.
We have no complaints, the all inclusive package gives plenty of drink options including cocktails all day, if required,,,
The food is available all day from breakfast at seven through till dinner at 9.45. There is always a varied choice of food to suit every taste and even the pickiest eater couldn't help to find something.
There is a cross section of food from all continents and speciality themed nights eg, Chinese, Moroccan and Italian as well as the two al a carte restaurants which have to be booked, one is a fish restaurant the other a Moroccan, gentlemen long trousers must be worn in these restaurants.
The staff are very friendly and speak sufficient English so each party can converse, the bar staff are superb and will even remember your tipple. The entertainment staff work tirelessly and are good fun to be around.
The rooms are large and the beds very comfortable, each room has its own safe and air con.
During Ramadan the nightclub was closed so we did not have any complaints regarding the noise which has previously been mentioned.
If you are a beach person then the hotel is situated directly across the promenade with its own private sun beds and cordoned off area, the pool is large and can cater for all.
We found the reserving of sun beds to be an issue which has been highlighted but this is only an issue around the pool, on the beach is no problem.
We had a fantastic holiday and would not hesitate to return to this wonderful hotel in a superb location with its great food and extremely friendly and helpful staff.

This riu hotel is brilliant! Me and my boyfriend went for 10 days in June. Rooms are lovely, foods good with lots of choice and staff are very friendly! The hotel has its own loungers on the beach which is good too as we spent most of our time there. If you want to lounge by the pool you have to get up extremely early (I heard someone saying they set their alarm for 5am to put their towels out!) as all the loungers are pretty much gone by breakfast! Although the hotel states you cannot do this they do not enforce it so for the 10 days we were there we didn't sit by the pool once!

However we did have one problem whilst staying there, money stolen from our safe by the cleaner! We went out for 2hours and forgot to lock our safe, when we came back we realised that £200 had been stolen and the cleaner was the only person that came into the room! I know it is mainly our fault for leaving the safe open but surely the cleaners should just be there to clean and not touch your things? We made a complaint to the manager and although he gave us some freebies for the incident I feel as though it could of been dealt with better. I made my complaint to him on the Friday and he said he would investigate, it wasn't until the following Tuesday that he did anything about it and that was only because of our travel advisor that we got a room upgrade and a late checkout! Not much good when we went home 2 days later! If this incident hadn't happened I would of rated the hotel 5/5!
However we did not let this ruin our holiday especially with agadir being such a beautiful place!

Room Tip: Don't get a room at the front of the hotel as it's above the nightclub! Get a suite if you...

My husband I have just returned from a 2 week stay at this hotel.

We had a fabulous fortnight and could not fault the hotel or staff in any way. We arrived late in the evening of the 10th July and dinner was waiting for us.

The staff were very professional and nothing was too much trouble.

The rooms were cleaned every day and all hotel facilities were immaculate. Even supplying a lovely bath robe was such a personal touch that was most appreciated.

The food was fantastic there were so many dishes to choose from. There were so many choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner that everybody should have been happy. I can honestly say that I was really impressed with the catering and it has been the best so far.

Sun beds were not a problem even though some people did feel the need to put their towels out the night before to mark their spot. We went down at 9am every morning and there were still plenty of beds available. To be perfectly honest the ones that were more like beds were too hot anyway.

We will be booking to go again next year for sure.

I booked a week away for me and my daughter to have a chill out and some mother daughter bonding. We had a fabulous week at this Hotel. The staff were very professional and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were cleaned every day and the food good. You could find something however fussy you are. The freshly made omelettes were fabulous and a roast every day carved in front of you. We also tried the Mexican twice. Once just me and my daughter and the second with the group of people we met up from the uk and yes we put towels on the sun beds as we all wanted to spend the day together! The only bad thing i van think of was the view from our balcony looked out on what looked like builders rubbish which had been left. I think the management should arrange for this to be moved although we knew we would only be using the room to sleep in and get changed so it didn't really bother us. There are a few cats around but if you don't bother them then they don't bother you.

We stayed at the tikida beach at the end of June . It was to celebrate our daughters 21& 18 birthdays. We had a great time. The staff were great . I read some reviews with said about French guest being served first this is crap as we had great service from everyone around the resort. All you have to do is to treat everyone as you want to be treated , a hello and thank you goes a long way.

We booked 3 doubles and 1 single, all the rooms were great and the maids kept them very clean. When we arrived I was worried about the single being small be it was great with two beds, it didn't have a balcony but that was not a problem as you do not go on hoilday to stay in your room.

The food was great, we have a couple of picky eaters with us and they always had something to eat. In the evenings we would meet for a drink I had great service we tried to move tables together and was stopped as they would move it for us and they wanted us to relax and have a great time .

We never had a problem getting 7 sunned together and if you needed anything ask the towel man and he will try and get thing for you.

It's not rocket science use your manners and you will get the service you want. If you don' t , we'll it's your fault. A holiday is what you make it so enjoy it .
