We had one week here, it is a small hotel- 58 rooms. The location is 6 kl to the marina where all the resturants and clubs are, this hotel is in the middle of a building site, but we did not hear anything day or night of work, it was extremely peaceful. Taxis which there are plentiful (orange) cost 20 mad to most places (13 =£1.00) so it was not dear to get any where The rooms are very spacious and clean, a small fridge for your use. The staff are very polite and helpful but not overbearing. The sunbeds are plentiful with a raised area at the one end with double flat beds on tiers with pillows (like moroccan beds). The pool its self could do with a clean and there are a few tiles missing. We were half board, the breakfast caters more for the French and Spanish tastes, though you could have eggs cooked to your liking. The evening meal- not rows and rows of food but what there was, was good quality, fresh fish cooked while you wait. The bread was delicious. The hotel is approx 20 minutes from the airport. We booked a tour with Sahara Tours (our tour rep) to Marrakech pick up 6.45 return 12.00 midnight, cost £110.00 for 2. We seemed to spend most of the time having lunch which was not very good, a walk to a small palace which lasted approx half hour. Then we were taken to an oil and spice shop where we were given the hard sell, after there another shop the tour guide took us to, we only had one and half hours to explore the souks our selves and then dinner at another resturant but the same food. At 7.30 the guide said that we are now returning, The famous square where all the belly dancing and snake charming etc that went on at night which was part of the tour and paid for he was not going to take us, we asked if we could go there and he allowed us 30 minutes! the hotel let us keep the room on until departure (16.45) at no extra cost due to the fridge breaking down one day, which we thought was very good of them.

Hi all i took some of my family for a wonderful weeks stay at the Timoulay as i had stayed there 2 times before purely to show them what a decent holiday is .... we arrived and from the minute we did im happy to say that the hotel was a great as the previous 2 times ... clean, fresh and spacious rooms ... smiling happy staff... decent food ... and the sun what more do you want ... my only bug bear is that when you book this wonderful hotel online or through thomsons you dont get the choice of using there suites which would of been better for our family ... we had 2 rooms next to each other but really wanted a suite !!! that aside i will be returning next year yet again .... ive found my Oasis there and dont intend on letting it go ... well done to all the staff at the Timoulay and ty for a great stay ... see you soon xx

Great hotel, service is ok but not much, room are very clean.

A good big 5 min walk from the beach, pool and outdoor beds are nice

Buffet was excellent with different foods every night

Stay at the hotel during the ramadan so not much action but it was ok

Far from the shicha bar, casino, dancing club, etc. need a cab

Expensive for what they have to offer ... pay +- 200$us/night for a suite

After searching this site and finding a great deal my two girlfriends and I booked our accommodation at the Hotel Timoulay in Agadir. It was the end of November and we stayed for one week to celebrate my birthday. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and seated in the hotel's beautiful reception area by their very friendly staff. The hotel itself is lovely! It had lots of light and was very comfortable. Our room had excellent views of the pool area and a slight vista of the ocean. The beautiful 25 degree weather didn't hurt either!!

At that time of year there were not huge crowds so we had our pick of sunbeds. The pool area was immaculate and well attended to. The hotel in general was very clean. The rooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. It was just the right size for the three of us.

The beach is beautiful and just a short walk away from the hotel there were also lots of shops and great restaurants in the area. There's even a bird sanctuary if you're interested and various activities and sites like the Souq El-Had and the bird sanctuary and zoo.

That being said, the food at the hotel was great! Every morning there was an assortment of fresh and dried fruit along with freshly squeezed juices. There was also an omelette bar where you could have your omelette made to order. The lovely chef in the there had such a lovely spirit and was always pleasant to speak to. In the evenings there was always a new dinner menu with plenty of options plus some fantastic traditional Moroccan foods.

The staff were wonderful, funny and very accommodating overall. It seemed as if no request was too difficult. Each morning I had the urge to have a short workout in their gym area. It was modest, but functional and right beside the spa so strategically placed for an after workout spa treatment. The staff were more than accommodating in opening the gym at 7 am each morning (hey what can I say I like to workout)!

On my birthday my friends and I went out to eat at a fabulous restaurant and when we got back to the hotel we sat for some Moroccan tea in the lounge area to listen to the hotel's entertainment - a very nice and jovial keyboardist and singer. We had just commented that our tea was taking quite some time to arrive when suddenly we discovered why - out of nowhere the staff came out with a beautiful cake and candles singing Happy Birthday. It was such a lovely gesture. Afterwards I was handed the mic and we had a little sing-a-thon. It was the perfect end to a fabulous night.

Our experience of Agadir was made so much nicer having stayed at this lovely quaint hotel. Hopefully we'll have the chance to go back again soon.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Timoulay in June this year on our first summer holiday together. The hotel is absolutely lovely, small and quiet, immaculately clean, and the pool area is just gorgeous. The maid would often leave flowers on our bed, it's little touches like this that make you feel like your custom is valued. The food was fantastic, Tagines and freshly cooked meat and fish were always the best bets. My boyfriend is much pickier than me but there was always something for him!

I wouldn't say the staff/service was overly helpful or friendly, but they would always help if you asked, and i'm the sort of person that prefers not to be bothered on holiday so that was fine. Alcohol in the bar is rather expensive, so if you are on half board I would recommend going out for a few drinks, we frequented La Vendome on the beach front which had Moroccan entertainment every night, an absolute treat!

Yes, the hotel is a 40 minute walk from the marina, but a taxi there is about £1.60, so it really doesn't matter. It was so relaxing at Timoulay that we spent much more time there than I was expecting. We went off season so there was barely a child in sight, it was almost like we had a private pool sometimes! We spent our days by the pool and went off exploring in the evenings.

One thing that isn't any kind of reflection on the hotel, DO NOT book trips through the Thomson rep. We went on a trip to Taroudant that was the most disappointing thing about the holiday. We were herded around like we were on a school trip, and given 15 minutes free time before being herded back on to the coach! If you go down to the beach front, all the restaurants bars have hosts who can organise trips for you at a much more reasonable price for a more personalised trip. We booked our camel ride this way and it was a hoot!

If you fancy a bit of luxury, head to the beautiful spa. The staff were lovely and we had a hammam and massage for around £30 each, which is a complete bargain when you're used to London prices.

All in all, it was a fantastic first holiday and I would recommend a stay at TImoulay to anyone.

Stayed 4 days at the Timoulay. Hotel is rather isolated from the tourity part of town - about 8 minutes walk from the beach (under the roasting sun) + does not have its own part of the beach = if you wish to use the loungers, get ready to be charged for them...

The bedroom and bathroom were of decent sizes, something you would expect from a 4 star hotel.

The pool area was nice but full of noisy children at the weekend.

Restaurant food was absolutely shocking... We do not ususally go for hotel food but felt lazy one evening (as most restaurants are 25-30 min walk from the hotel). We were overcharged for what was very rubbish food - most dishes served were out of a tin and the small bottle of wine we ordered was a complete rip off!!!

Staff was not particularly helpful or friendly, and we were told we were only allowed to take 1 towel if we wished to go the beach. Frankly, we have never stayed in any hotel in which staff were so bothered about the pool towels - pathetic...

Dear guest,

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at the Timoulay Hotel & Spa,

We are really sorry that our hotel, did not meet your expectations,

We pride ourselves with the good service and our guest's satisfaction and we are very desapointed that we fault with you.

You spoke about the private beach,I'm afraid but it is not said, nowhere, that we have our own, what can I say about the food, a part that, I'm really sorry that it was not good at your taste, we are working daily very hard to improve our buffets, and I hope that we can be able to satisfy all our guests and concerning the pool towels, I'm so sorry again and as I told you, normally the towels are for pool use only, but we allow to our guests, if they ask, to take the towels to the beach but only one per person, this way, we are sure, that we can provide all our guests with pool towels.
I very much hope that you will take the opportunity to visit us once again to allow me to make amends for your several disappointments.
Kind regards
