Look, as it says above, for $6, what do you expect? The staff was friendly, the place was reasonably clean, the wifi worked, and you're right in the Medina. I've seen quite a few complaints about this place. I'll reiterate; it's $6 a night! As a backpacker, think about equipping yourself with at least your own toilet paper, earplugs, and soap or sanitizer. Those three things will make for a much more comfortable, quiet, and clean stay. No matter where you are. I'd probably stay there again.

I was looking for a cheap place to spend one night and it was cheap. Thus as expected - not very clean and not very cozy. Room I stayed in wasn't nice and one could hear everything from the corridor and other rooms.
Good things - it's in a good location, staff was friendly (one guy a bit too friendly), they had internet and bed sheets smelled clean (and that's important coz in some cheep hostels one can't be 100% sure if they are washed).

NOT RECOMMENDED.
Steer clear of this hostel.

It was closed when I arrived (even though I booked it and they charged money on the day after). I tried to knock on the door and call reception but to no avail.
Not to mention there were couple of junkies and drunks sitting on a front porch.
So I had to find other place to stay in.

Try to find other more reliable hotels.

Friendly staf
bed was clean
bathroom and toilet was very old , broken and not clean. Not a nice common room.
While there were several rooms empty, they put everybody in a single room , 6 beds, which was strange becuase of all the empty rooms.
no breakfast

very cheap though, so whats to expect??

The location could hardly be more convenient to the Casa Port train station (and is about a 10 dirham cab ride from Casa Voyagers) in a really cute square just barely in the medina. It's a quick walk to Hassan II mosque and an even quicker walk to Rick's Cafe. The staff is ok--I've met way friendlier--and you need to bring your own toilet paper to the bathroom. My biggest complaint is that it's really loud. I barely got any sleep because there's a big echo factor and even quiet talkers sound loud. The staff shushed one group and then another came in. If you want to stay here and aren't a super sound sleeper, bring earplugs.

As others have mentioned, the hostel's hygiene standards aren't up to scratch by any country's standard. But do ask for sheets- they'll give you clean ones. We stayed in a family room; at 220 Dirham it's overpriced, but due to lack of competition it's the cheapest in Casablanca. Staff was ok, a bit abrupt at check in but quite nice after that. The room was big, bed was comfortable, and the water was very hot and ok pressure. The place is a bit worn out and lacks atmosphere, but for a quick stay in Casablanca it's fine- super easy to find (sign from main road), close to the Casa Port train station, the CTM bus station, just inside the Medina close to cheap food options, in a safe busy square.

Very unfriendly staff, especially the receptionist who even yelled at us for forgetting a bag at the counter. The two women serving breakfast are, however, nice and friendly.

The rooms are very, very basic. The beds have no sheets, only a used blanket, and are definitely not clean. I witnessed that they are being reused for the next customer without changing.

Unfortunately, we had to stay there twice and both times we were in different rooms. Both rooms had only a "partial roof" with one fourth being covered only by see-through, plastic pannels. There is no real locker in the room and it is generally dirty!

The worst, however, were the bathrooms: they were disgusting (I can only say it for the women's toilet)! There was no hot water in the showers, the toilet was not being cleaned and the floors were very dirty.

All in all, I would never go there again, 150 DH for a double room is definitely too much and there are much better budget options in Casa, such as the Rialto.
