We went to La Cocina during Ramadan and loved that they had ice cold beer in the fridge...and we could BUY some! We visited twice during our stay in Casablanca, once for dinner and once for lunch. We had a few tapas for dinner while sitting at the bar and they were fantastic. I also loved the Spanish beer, Estrella, which I'd never tried before. They had a few different beers to choose from, Corona, Flag, Casablanca, etc., but Estrella was the best. We tried 2 or 3 of the tapas...all fantastic! Lunch was good, but not quite as good as dinner, maybe because it was a set menu, but it was still okay. By the time we got to Casablanca we were ready for something other than tagines and couscous and this fit the bill. I wouldn't hesitate about going back again...would love to try the paella. As for the atmosphere...I found it quite good. People tended to eat a bit later than what we would back home, so it might seem slow, but give it another hour or two and it was buzzing. The owners are very welcoming and in amongst the customers checking that everything is as it should be.

Perfect for a low key night out with friends.
The restaurant itself is not particulalry charming, more a sports bar type of restaurant. But the owner and the servers are very nice, helpful, the food we ordered was good (particulalry the "croquettes de poulet" or the spanish tortilla). The desser however was a bit disapointing: we ordered the Crème Catalane and it was not a very tasty option (and honestly too small of a portion). The Mousse au Chocolat is way better.

Based on the reviews here we expected to find a casual, busy tapas restaurant with outstanding food. We arrived for an early dinner, about 6pm, to an empty restaurant with decor on the 'cold' side, but were met with a friendly greeting by the manager or owner. He assisted us in perusing the menu as we struggled to understand a few words - menu is in French and Spanish and we're English speakers with a decent knowledge of French. Although we clearly understood what dishes we were ordering, one dish we received was not as described. The tortilla - which can basically sum up the quality and/or authenticity of a tapas restaurant! - was sadly just average. Service was nice and friendly, and our stomachs were full when we left, though I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to friends, unfortunately.

Excellent Spanish Restaurant in Casablanca. The best one! When I travel to Casablanca, I always go to La Cocina. Pepe, the Manager, creates a good and friendly atmosphere, easy going and open-minded people.
Strong recommend you to go!

The atmosphere might be cold and almost sterile, but the clientele is so normal and friendly that I can't help stopping in for a San Miguel when I walk past. The service is good and the staff is very friendly. They normally send you some of their delicious little treats from the kitchen even if you are just there for a beer. The tapas are great and good-sized and the paella is amazing!
