The hotel is in the middle of a busy residential/commercial/market district with rows of mini-groceries, household appliances stores , banks and local cafes and a pharmacy close by which makes it really convenient if you need to change currency and get supplies like toilettries , water and stuff. It's really busy outside during daytime but the inside the hotel its quiet. They have a small lobby and a breakfast area which could use a little bit more lighting. I noticed a restaurant inside the hotel which we havent tried. There are two tiny elevators that can practically accommodate only 1 person + 1 luggage or 2 people at a time. The rooms are spacious enough and well kept as well as the bathrooms. We had a room with a balcony that facing the front and unless you shut the glass doors at night, you could hear the noise outside. During our stay, it went on until early morning. Getting a cab from the hotel is not difficult as all you will need is walk 20 meters to the corner to catch one. You can also go on foot to reach the main street where some of the sights are. Breakfast was the usual bread, butter, eggs orange juice coffee or tea which is served buffet. We were out most of the time so this hotel was just what we needed.

This is a lovely old Moroccan hotel. There is a lot of dark wood and the lobby is beautiful. The rooms are very basic but are clean and comfortable. The front desk was helpful and there is wi-fi in the lobby. The breakfast included rolls, eggs, cheese, breakfast drink and coffee. There are small grocery stores nearby and restaurants are a 5 - 10 min. walk away but the neighborhood is
safe. If you need a place to stay in Casablanca before or after a tour of Morocco this hotel is a good choice.

I debated between Maamoura and Moroccan House for my first three nights and went with the latter. I had one night at Maamoura before joining my tour. This is a 'Moroccan' hotel, not part of an American chain, so it is different. Yes, it's in an area full of housewares shops and the décor is eccentric, but my bed was warm and dry, the towels were dry, the shower worked and the staff helpful. If you want an American-style hotel, stay in one. If you want a flavour of Morocco, stay where Moroccans and visitors stay.

Room Tip: If street noise bothers you, take wax earplugs (foam just doesn't cut it)

The Maamoura hotel is a good option for staying in Casablanca. It is a 10 minute drive from the Casa Voyageurs train station (20 Dirham) and a 10 minute drive to the Hassan II Mosque. The breakfast is basic and good. The rooms are old fashioned but clean. The only thing is the smokey smell in all of the rooms. Reception staff is friendly and helpful. There are elevators which is always nice with heavy luggage...

The location of this hotel isn't the greatest, although it's walkable to the bazaar/medina. Be sure to take a map of the city if you are walking around, as Casablanca is probably the most difficult to navigate of any city I've ever visited.

I would have been better served by a robot than the front desk staff at check-in. Not that I was expecting anything special at check-in, but I had to ask about everything, e.g. when breakfast is served (7-10), a map of the city, laundry service, what about wi-fi, how to operate the air conditioner, etc.

They told me that wi-fi was available in my room, but it is not. I had to go to the lobby with my laptop every time I wanted to access email. The manager told me that the wi-fi on my floor is being serviced, but all three days I was here, it was not working. I think he tells guests that, just to placate them.

The breakfast was the most pitiful I've can recall ever having at a hotel. It consisted of bread, butter, croissants, a bowl of black olives, and some neon-orange drink they bring you, along with coffee. But hey, it was included the the price of the room, so guess I shouldn't complain, should I?

The bathroom was small, but the bedroom was of adequate size. The bed was comfortable with clean sheets, but not sure when the bed spread was last cleaned. The sliding glass doors to the lobby didn't slide easily and the draperies appeared to be dirty. On the other hand, the lobby was rather attractive.

The room is ok but the bath is another story. If you are in any way handicapped then good luck in getting in or out of the bath, which also doubles as the shower. Don't pick rooms x07 to x11 as they faced the road and it get load. The staff are ok, helpful and speak passable English.

Made the mistake of eatng dinner here, ranges between 70 - 120 dirhams. Had the Tagine Kebab Maghdour which was sinewy and touch. The souce was ok. The apple drink was good as was the olives. Breakfast consisted of "cruisants" bread with jam, cheese spread and olives. If it was not included I would haved asked them to pay me to have breakfast.

The location is good and the hotel is clean.

Room Tip: Avoid room x07 - x11.

We had one night in Casablanca at each end of our Morocco trip. The location is pretty good. The staff was unremarkable and the rooms were decent. Breakfast was OK, especially in comparison with breakfasts in other hotels we stayed at.
