“The hospitality offered is unparalleled”
Reviewed 22 January 2013

From the moment I made the booking on line, Jean-Claude and the team began to demonstrate what real hospitality is - both French and Moroccan styled. We were not disappointed upon arrival at the Riad after having been met at the train station. Not only is the Riad truly lovely, but for us, the highlight was spending time talking with Simo about all aspects of Moroccan life. Simo and Rachida went above and beyond for us while we were there, and made us feel like we were really in our own home. Our time at Riad Laayoun was the highlight of our accommodation and we would strongly recommend this place to anyone. Thank you Jean-Claude, Simo and Rachida.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The price is very good compared to the quality of the riad as it is beautiful. The owner went beyond by meeting us very early in the morning on the street and letting us check in right away without problems, giving us a more expensive room with no extra charge. The riad is lovely inside and the management was very hospitable. The dinner was good and the service very good. What could be improved is the wifi signal (ipad got no signal in the room), the breakfast which was not satisfactory, and maybe leaving a small light on during the night somewhere in the riad as the common areas were pitch black at night. We really liked when there was music playing when guests were having dinner downstairs as it created a very warm atmosphere, it was just a shame that the music and lights seemed to switch off suddenly once dinner was over. This is a very nice riad inside with attentive, kind service and a very competitive price.

A chance meeting on entering the medina, and the subsequent discovery that high season had all the riads we thought to stay in full, had Jean Claude leading us on a wide eyed , weaving pathway to his beautiful home. A cancellation only 10 mins before we met, left us with the small, cosy paprika room. Perfect for us , at a very reasonable rate with access to all of the crazy streets around us , we felt totally at home straight away. Simo, Laayouns manager, was super friendly and helpful, always checking we had everything we needed, without any sense of pressure whatsoever. Amazingly quiet and peaceful with a great terrace and view, laayoun was a great base for our adventures throughout the medina, over the next few days. Highly recommended

A super hospitality, a great place, a great city.
We were there in couple for two nights and three days, and from the rooftop terrace to the patio and the dining room, and of course our suite, everything was just perfect for relaxing from the flamboyante life of the medina.
Really a lovely stay, only too short.

Riad Laayoun was an absolute delight. located so close to medina , the place has lovely rooms. The best part was the hospitality of the people there.. Even though Jean Claude was away, his colleague Mohammed ( Simo) took impeccable care of us.. Always just a shout away, he attended to us giving us the best guidance around fes.. Rachida made excellent mint tea and breakfast for us...
Warmth and hospitality is what makes a good place among the best places. and this is true for Riad Laayoun.- Karthik Balakrishnan

It is a beautiful riad with a terrace and a great view of the city! We really enjoyed it, Simo and Rachida who take care of everything, were great and helpful (we didn't get to meet the owner Jean-Claude, but I had the impression he's a really nice person as well). Breakfast is fantastic, the rooms are great - we slept in the room Vanilla, which is not big but it's really nice.
We really don't have anything to complain about!! If we have the chance, we will definitely go back!

Our stay at the Riad Laayoun was the best of our journey to Morocco. The Riad is beautiful, rooms comfortable, food wonderful, the service extraordinary. We got lost trying to find the Riad and Jean-Claude came to find us to walk us back. He also recommended a guide for us who was very good. I have no problem giving this wonderful Riad and these wonderful people a top rating.

Room Tip: The two rooms that we had were both absolutely beautiful. I cannot remember the names.
