“Fabulous setting, surly waiter”
Reviewed 8 March 2014

Wonderful palace setting, pretty good food. Very expensive by local standards. Brusque, unhelpful waiter who lost interest completely as the evening wore on. Didn't offer us coffee, as he obviously wanted us to leave.

“Very nice people”
Reviewed 24 December 2013 via mobile

Dined with family. The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly, the price was reasonable and there is decor and atmosphere. It wasn't lively and the service, while well intentioned, did miss a few times. For instance, several dishes on the menu were ordered and later we were told that they were out of them (after long discussions describing hen, in one instance) so that 3 of 4 diners had to reconfigure their dinner orders.
Some dishes were misinterpreted, despite confirms in two languages. Others weren't brought until far later when the wait staff was reminded. Again, the staff was very, very nice so these were good faith communications issues.

The tomato and pepper salad was lovely. The veggie tajin was fine. The tomato and honey confit was good (though despite our polite request it was removed from table prematurely)

Other guests seemed to be European. Business seemed a bit slow (not crowded) at dinner but we didn't regret having chosen the restaurant.

“Good food and even better surroundings”
Reviewed 31 March 2013

A classic Moroccan riad restaurant operating as part of a small hotel. The food was well prepared classic Moroccan but the romantic surroundings really made it for us.

If you don't know, a riad is a local house with an interior atrium serving as a garden, often with a fountain. This was captured perfectly in sumptuous surroundings by this restaurant.

It was very busy, so booking advisable, and do expect tourist coach groups ...

“Enchanting experience”
Reviewed 18 March 2013

Like entering the Secret Garden, this Rhiad was reached through a small doorway. What lay behind was amazing - a beautiful courtyard which had been roofed was the restaurant complete with beautiful tiling fountain and live, sympathetic music. The food was delicious. We went as part of a large group but there were other areas tucked away for smaller numbers.
