Hi all - I realize I'm going to sound like a broken record, echoing all of the other posters, but Dar Melody is THAT good. Take a lovely riad, with just four rooms to rent, all facing a hollow interior. Add tasteful and elegant decor, in my case, scattered over about a massive bedroom/lounge and separate bathroom. And best of all, the special ingredient of Laurence and Bernard - who go so far above and beyond hospitality, I kept pinching myself to see if this was real.

Note: the one possible knock on Dar Melody is that it is a bit far from the tourist center of the medina. But to me, that's a plus - as every day, I got to experience a lovely 30 minute walk through areas where I was the only tourist.

Note #2: Don't miss their included breakfasts - fresh-squeezed orange juice, fruit, bread, Bernard's lovely scrambled eggs, crepes, and brownies all featured at one meal. Good thing I got to walk most of it off - otherwise I would have put on a kilo over the weekend.

Well, from a scale of 1 to 5, how am I going to rate Dar Melody 7 or 8, which it really deserves?

I love this place because the owners, Laurence and Bernard are simply super. They have made my staying at their place a most wonderful experience, Dar Melody is too good to be true. I most sincerely recommend Dar Melody to anyone who plans to visit Fes, Morocco.

主人夫妇是法国人。热心极了。此处干净,舒适,方便,令人非常愉快。价格合适。主人推介的导游非常可靠。在摩洛哥要很小心。好人多,坏人也不少。住在 Dar Melody 是我最好的选择。

We soon realised that, attractive as they are, the photographs on the website do less than justice to Dar Melody: it is a superb place to stay. The ambience is amazing - everything is authentic & the attention to detail ensures that the rooms as well as their furnishings demonstrate traditional decor. The warmth of the welcome we received was matched by the helpful advice about sightseeing & places to eat. The breakfasts were amongst the best we've ever enjoyed - an amazing variety of tempting items which we never managed to finish. We only got lost once trying to navigate our way back through the souks .....

It is conveniently close to the Andalousian Mosque: we had no problems in exploring on foot or taking a petit taxi back to the Parking at Bine Lamdoun.

We greatly appreciated the exchange of emails to confirm detailed arrangements & the generosity of our hosts in sharing their beautiful home with us.

Room Tip: We were in Menzeh - a fantastic room on the top floor looking out onto the terrace - but the other rooms looked very attractive.

We stayed at Dar Melody for several nights and can honestly say it was the nicest hotel stay we've ever had. The owners, Laurence and Bernard, were incredibly warm, welcoming and helpful and the beautifully renovated traditional house was a privilege to experience. Breakfast was a delight with the table set in a different style each morning - we had delicious and innovatively flavoured fresh juices and smoothies plus eggs, breads and pastries and on one morning, home-made chocolate brownies - a great way to start the day. The dar is positioned away from many of the more touristy restaurants and cafes - a bonus as far as we were concerned - but is near many major attractions. We had a great time at Dar Melody and in Fes in general and only hope we can find an excuse to return sooner rather than later.

Bernard and Laurence run Dar Melody with passion and pride. Without a doubt they have one of the best breakfasts in Fes and Laurence shows her pride with dressing the breakfast table every day. The riad is charming and homely but not morocco chic- you will enjoy it if you do not expect hip decor.

We were accommodated in the blue room which had a separate single room attached to it through the bathroom which meant that we had unexpected privacy for a triple room. The main room is large and had good space to sit and relax and the bathroom was beautifully appointed. There was a strange smell in the single room but we did find most of the riads were stuffy due to the lack of air flow.

Laurence kindly helped us book a hammam and massage at spa nausikaa which we appreciated.

The location is great and Laurence and Bernard were wonderful at making sure we knew where we were and thanks to them we never got lost in Fes nor did we have to hire a guide.

Our only complaint would be the soft beds - we woke up feeling very stiff after sleeping on such soft mattresses but we understand that others may like this.

All in all a very good value for money stay.
