Dar Melody is a wonderful respite from the craziness and challenges of the Fes medina. A beautiful riad, the attention to detail in every aspect was much appreciated. Breakfasts were a highlight of my day with fresh juices, fruit, a variety of crepes and toppings, eggs and coffee. Our room was spacious. beautifully decorated and very comfortable. There is also a wonderful rooftop terrace which boasts spectacular views. Laurence and Bernard were wonderful hosts who went out of their way to make us feel at home. They had a taxi waiting at the train station and when the taxi dropped us off, Bernard was there to lead us through the maze of the medina to the riad. We were welcomed with fresh squeezed orange juice and fresh pineapple and given an "orientation" to Fes, with information, advice, and a map. When we set out to dinner on the first night we were a little unsure we would find our way there and back (there are 9500 streets in the medina!). Laurence, perhaps sensing our lack of confidence, led the way. She also drove us to the train station when it was time to leave Fes. We had a wonderful experience at Dar Melody and would highly recommend it. If you are going to stay in the medina, this is the place to choose. Thanks Laurence and Bernard for sharing your home with us.
