My partner and I went here on our first night in Fes on the recommendation of our riad. It was late on a Sunday evening and the restaurant we very quiet. The space was modern but the tables left intimate. The service was very good from start to finish. Orr waiter even called us a taxi and spoke with the driver to explain where our riad was. The food was very reasonably priced and all very good. Nothing in particular "wowed" me but overall a very nice night. It felt a bit like something was missing but could have just been the lack of guests when we arrived for dinner.
Definitely a great recommendation, also nice to see the nouvelle part of the city.

Restaurant is in the "new town". Cab ride from the Medina was about 10 minutes. Very fashionable feel, good food and nice service. After a day touring ancient ruins and the oldest college in the world we were ready for something a bit more modern. Reasonable wine prices and interesting menu items.

Picked out this restaurant from reviews. It is a great find for a bit of gracious, refined dining away from the Old Town and too many tourists. Good selection of dishes & wines in a hushed and modern setting.

Really interesting hip decor. Our salmon tartar was outstanding, martinis were really good, wine was priced ok. We shared the steak with fois gras.....really good, but a bit on the small side....only two small potatoes included. We had to order extra vegetables which were just ok. Dessert was good. Asked for our coffee to be delivered with the dessert, but that didn't happen. Coffee came first, dessert much later. When we asked about that they brought more coffee but charged us for it. In general the service was terrible, inattentive and confused. We repeatedly had to ask for our wine to be refreshed. There weren't that many people in the restaurant, but the waiters kept pulling a disappearing act. To make matters worse the taxi ripped us off on our return to the hotel, asking for twice the price of what it should have been.

Reading the other reviews of Maison Blanche, I can only conclude that the reviewers were not used to a very sophisticated cuisine or the restaurant is very unpredictable. My wife and I had lunch there recently and were stunned by the quality of the food, service and ambience. The room is hip and modern with a great sound track playing. We were served an amusee bouche of pureed beet, pomegranate and tomato which was out of this world. For a starter, I had a salmon tartare with very refined sauces with wasabi and soy flavoring. Absolutely delicious. My wife had the dourade and I have the bar Moroccan style for our main courses. Both were scrumptious although the bar had seasonings and a spicy carrot side dish that made it special. For dessert, we shared a complicated chocolate praline with a frozen raspberry gel. Again, very good. I had a glass of the house wine which was decent and cheap. My wife observed that we had a Michelin meal for just a bit more than the "European" or fancy Moroccan restaurants charge in Fes. Okay, maybe we got them on a good day but the care in the cooking and in the plating of the meals was very high quality and indicators of a first class restaurant. Similarly, the waiter stumbled a bit in English but was very professional and attentive. We have only praise and no complaints.
