Guesthouse Dar Sienna truly is a gem right in the center of the amazing medina of Fes. Hidden in a tiny alley near mosque Moulay Idriss you'll really find yourself in the hearth of the ancient city.

The beautifully renovated traditional 'vertical' Moroccan home has three double rooms on three floors with a private bathroom each. Guests share a lovely kitchen a a bright and cosy living room in the atrium.

On the top you'll find a two storey terrace which displays a stunning 360° view over the rooftops. You'll surely have a good time enjoying breakfast in the morning and a drink or meal in the evening enjoying the architecture and feeling the energy of the city. Listening to the evening prayers from there truly is a great experience.

You can rely on the staff, Ahmed and Saba, helping you out with everything you need or want to know about the city. They really give you the feeling that you're home :)

Oh, and you have a decent WiFi connection and a laptop to use!

Wish you all a great stay,
Dennis

It's such a beautiful hideaway in the heart of medina, Dar Sienna!

I had a wonderful time in Fez because of Dar Sienna, Sonhild(owner of this place) , other guests and staff.

Sonhild is so warm welcoming, helping me what to do the best in Fez, inviting me for night grocery tour & heart warming dinner, and making me at home & safe all the time.

I couldn't have a great experience in Fez without Dar Sienna and Sonhild.

Great view from terrace, you can enjoy breakfast, have a little break time or just feel the air of Fez.
Beautiful facility with Sonhild's ideas, cares and spirits.

Thank you, Dar Sienna & Sonhild!

We stayed for 4 days at Dar Sienna and had a wonderful time. The room was lovely, the staff super friendly and welcoming, and it was great to have a kitchen to cook food from the market and then enjoy it on the panoramic rooftop terrace. Lots of thoughtful touches make it feeling like home (including the bathrobes). Highly recommend it!

Dar Sienna is an absolutely beautiful hideaway in the heart of medina. The building has been lovingly restored and and feels welcoming, relaxing and chic. We stayed in the smallest of the three rooms and found it to very comfortable and decorated to a high standard.

The staff at Dar Sienna really did make our stay in Fez. Ahmad, the house manager was very attentive and did a fantastic job of helping us to explore the vast medina, suggesting walks for us to do and giving us directions to places that he thought that we would like. On our last day in Fez I was not feeling well and was unable to carry my heavy bag the 15 minutes up the hill and out of the medina. Ahmad was absolutely amazing and carried it all the way for me and even stayed with us until we had found our bus. I really don't know what we would have done without Ahmad and cannot thank him enough.

During our stay Sonhild, the owner of the house, and her son were staying in the other two rooms. They were both lovely people and spent time making us feel welcome and sharing their knowledge of Fez with us.

This is a wonderful place to stay with so much character with lovely staff and a very special setting. I can't recommend it enough and only wish that we were able to stay for longer.

Had a great stay at Dar Sienna, a stunning, beautifully restored tower house in the very heart of the old town. The staff were charming and helpful. We arrived by train from Casablanca hours later than scheduled, but we were still met with smiles at around midnight at Fez train station. Be prepared to get very lost but that is all part of the charm of the medina! Wandering around the labyrinth of alleyways, perusing the myriad of little shops, watching old craftsmen at work in traditional old workshops was fascinating. Dar Sienna is a wonderful oasis in the middle of the medina.

The Dar Sienna is a beautiful and safe home in a busy and crowded Medina. We were met at the train station in Fes by Said who brought us to the Medina in a petite taxi, and then by hand push cart through the narrow streets of the Medina to Dar Sienna. We could NEVER have found this hidden gem of a house without a guide. After climbing 2 flights of steep and tile decorated stairs, we were greeted by Ahmed and Saba, who served us delicious mint tea, while welcoming us to their Riad and registering us. We stayed at the Riad for 4 nights and 5 days.

Ahmed took time to orient us to the Medina, gave us maps and even money (because he worried that the bank would be closed and we would not be able to get dinner). He did not live at the Riad but returned each night to check that we were fine and to answer any questions we might have.

There are 3 rooms, each on its own floor and each with its own bathroom. Our group of 2 couples had the 2 top floor rooms and they were clean, spacious and well equipped with english language guide books, a fruit bowl, and fabulous views of the Medina. The call to prayer was magical from the roof top, which has a 360 degree view of the Medina.

Each morning Said served a bountiful breakfast of local breads, jam, cheese, olives and eggs (cooked in a tagine). The breakfast was so big that we did not need to eat till evening. Ahmed was sensitive to our need to drink bottled water and offered to get us a few gallons before we asked. He met us on the rooftop each morning and helped us plan our sightseeing for the day. He encouraged us to explore on our own, suggested where we should walk and which sights to visit, and was correct that we could do it ourselves. We did the bread baking lesson which was fun, and Ahmed joined us in a mint tea and bread snack after it was baked. It was well worth the time to do this.

We were made to feel like the Dar Sienna was our home and were even shown where there was extra tea and jam and how to use the washing machine. We were welcome to cook for ourselves but never had the time. I recommend both rooms on the top 2 floors. The middle floor bedroom has a bathroom down the hall but it still is very private and there are 2 bathrobes behind the bedroom door that you can use. The bathroom was huge!!! The room on the upper floor has a tiny bathroom but leads out to the balcony and is therefore amazing!!! An aside...due to the ancient plumbing toilet paper cannot be flushed and must be placed into a garbage basket in the bathroom.

Going to the Medina is like stepping back in time to the middle ages. And the hustle and bustle is easily forgotten once you are back in the Dar Sienna. We found Fes to be exciting and unusual and worth every minute it takes to get there. We would highly recommend staying in this home, even if you are traveling with children. You will feel safe and welcomed and I am sure that any special needs you might have will be well taken care of by the trusted Ahmed. But, you must be able to walk up stairs because to get to the roof is 5 flights of steep, ancient and beautiful tiled stairs. We hope to return and stay longer.

Room Tip: The 2 room on the top 2 floors are great. I think the room on the bottom floor is small and the bat...

We had a great stay at the Dar Sienna. Ahmed, Said and Saba were excellent hosts during our two day stay in Fez. The rooftop terrace has excellent views and the breakfast was great every morning. Ahmed is extremely knowledgeable about Fez and will be able to point you in the right direction to navigate through the maze of Fez. You will not be disappointed!
