Dar Sienna is exactly as you see in the pictures, stylishly decorated and equipped with everything you might need. Ahmed and Saba made my stay a pleasure and went out of their way to help me and ensure I had everything I needed. Ahmed is a treasure trove of information about Fes and extremely helpful and charming. The stairs are steep but I soon got used to them, and the peace and quiet of the roof terraces is well worth the climb.
As a solo female traveller I did not at any point feel uneasy or nervous, and Ahmed’s maps of the medina will ensure you arrive safely back at Dar Sienna each evening happy and exhausted. I cannot recommend Dar Sienna enough.

what a surprise when we came to the terraces and found that it is just a few meters to the old mosque and university of fez. and we were lucky, the minarett is under refurbishment, so it is rather quiet at the moment. and the house is one of the tallest, so there is terrific views to all directions. the charming riad certainly has steep and narrow stairs, but this is the charme of it as well. it is not a place you can find anywhere you go to, it has it's own nice character. Saba is the treasure of the house, and Ahmed made sure that we did not get lost in the maze of the medina. Many thanks for the hospitality. If you plan to stay in a riad in fez, take this now.

This was the perfect place to stay in Fez, right in the heart of the old medina. Three floors with three private rooms makes for a great space where noise is minimal and solitude is all yours for the taking. Sonhild provided detailed information about the location and the Dar well in advanced to get us ready for our trip. Upon arrival, Ahmed took great care of us as did Saba who makes breakfast on the terrace every day. In fact, Ahmed greeted us again on the last day and brought Arabic sweets for us to enjoy as we watched our last sunset in Fez. You couldn't ask for a better experience and you couldn't ask for a better view!

Room Tip: Use Dar Sienna's direct site to see visuals and written descriptions for each room. Then you ca...

We started our roundtrip through morocco here, Dar Sienna is a nice and luxury hostel, in the middle of the medina. Ahmed ("manager") gives you good advice what to do in every situation. Breakfast is delicious and Saba, the Housekeeper, is the kindest person.
We travelled 3Weeks through morocco and didnt have one hostel as good as Dar Sienna, so we stayed there a second time at the end of our trip.
Taxi from/to Airport worked just perfect and Ahmed takes you from the Taxi to the hidden Hostel (you would never find it if you´re the first time in fez).
ABSOLUTELY RECOMMENDED!!!

Room Tip: Every room is fine, espacially for couples ;)

In hart of medina of Fes, overlooking roof tops, simply wonderful experience. Housekeeper in this beautifully restored riadh is really nice. Everything was well organised from our pick up from the train station to breakfast on the top of the riadh.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good.

My friend and I stayed in Dar Sienna for 3 nights, and absolutely LOVED the place! It is extremely clean, quiet, and well-decorated in Moroccan style. We especially loved the bathroom with a huge bathtub and always had hot water at any time of the day (rarely happens in many other places in Morocco!). The rooftop view is amazing! You will sit and eat a delicious Moroccan breakfast every morning on the rooftop overlooking the entire old Fes and the mountains surrounding the city. Most of all, the hotel manager, Ahmed, was extremely helpful and went above and beyond what we expected. He helped us by giving us a map, great tips on things to do and how not to get lost while in the confusing streets of Fes... he even helped us arrive to the train station. The staff at Dar Sienna is so friendly and kind, the dar is impeccably clean... I highly recommend Dar Sienna and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else when I visit Fes again!
