“Stunning”

Stayed here for 4 nights, paying £43 for a double room. This is more than we usually pay for accommodation but glad we splashed out as it made the holiday!

The riad has a great location, opposite a small entrance into the medina but was quiet, safe and easy to find. We picked up taxis on the main road and were always quoted fair prices. The riad itself is stunning, especially the courtyard and rooms. We stayed on the second floor; the room was small but with beautiful decor with good air-con and spotless en-suite. The room looked out over the courtyard but was private and comfortable and we slept well. There’s also a great roof terrace with good views over the medina which would be amazing in the summer months. As mentioned in below reviews, all the staff are genuinely friendly and make you feel very welcome. The Moroccan breakfast of breads, eggs and fruit was amazing, we were hoping to eat dinner on the first night as we arrived late but you have to book a day in advance which is worth considering if you have a late flight.

We really enjoyed our time in Fez (preferring it to Marrakesh) the people were a friendly and didn’t hassle you, the medina felt more authentic and a lot less touristy, for anyone thinking I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this riad.

Riad Ahlam provides a wonderful Riad experience. The building and room decor is beautiful and the rooftop area provides a wonderful view over Fez. The service is friendly and fantastic. Breakfast is an ever changing combination of local breads and eggs. The staff that make and serve the breakfast and do the rooms are wonderful and always greet you with a smile.

If you are coming to Fez by train you should be aware that this riad is in an ideal spot for exploring the main part of the medina but is actually on the opposite side of the medina to the train station and main town (which are 4-5 km's from the closest side of Medina). Because of this it is over half a kilometre walk through the markets to a taxi stand. There are often taxi's in the carpark near the Riad but this is not consistent and you have to fight the locals for them. If a taxi needs to be called by the riad it will be a tourist van and cost a great deal more than a regular taxi.

This Riad has a great location. Close enough to the Madina, but far enough to be quiet. The manager, Kasim, is a Moraccan Jay Leno in the making, and I mean that in a good way. He's a riot. The place was clean, comfortable, spacious, and the breakfasts were great. They put us in tough with a couple of restaurants that would have been nearly impossible to find on our own. They were great. Try to get to nearby Velobilis for a day trip to see the Roman Ruins. The mosaic floors are really great. We also went to Meknes, which is OK.

We give this place a great recommendation and thought that the price was pretty good.

I didn't get a chance to write the review before now - but we really had a great stay for 3 nights just before and including one day of Ramadan. It's less than a 1 min from the Medina and also near the bus station. Views from the roof terrace are wonderful. First night we spend in a small but lovely room and the other 2 nights we moved to a large room on the top floor - no added cost but really nice.
Breakfast was great, the young and welcoming staff made our stay perfect in all ways and we would love to come back to Fez and to Riad Ahlam. Thanks to you all in the team.

Manager is very friendly, looks after their guests and helps to organise sightseeing and touring what can be useful for people from Europe. Family atmosphere. Beautiful interior represents local traditional decoration. Nice places for resting in the patio and on the roof. Employed ladies cook very tastily in domestic style. Absolutely worth choosing this place which is more then accomodation.

Dear Sir,
Thank you very much for taking the time to write your review for Riad Ahlam. This is always helpful for us. The reviews from our guests are a real inspiration for us and not only when they are excellent, as it is almost the case, we look very carefully to each review and react when we believe the review is not in line with what we are offering.
We are a little bit surprised to see that you consider our Riad Ahlam just “average”, while you mentioned in your review that Riad Ahlam was a nice place that the price and the quality were fine !
We are also surprised to see that you mentioned the Riad was noisy !!.
Riad Ahlam is located in a very quite Area of the Medina, car free, Riad Ahlam is very famous with the quietness it offers. Have you heard any noise from our staff or from some other guests? We are really interested to know what was noisy for youl!
Again thank you for you review and for mentioning that Riad Ahlam is a nice place even if you don’t find us the most beautiful Riad :-). Also a great thanks from all the Riad Ahlam team by mentioning the staff was friendly.
Once again, Thank you and we hope we will have the opportunity to welcome you next time at Riad Ahlam
